It was last ball before the tea and a ball from Ishant sharma to Ian bell, Bell hit it towards boundary but praveen kumar manage to stop it for going to boundary.
Bell on other hand think of that it is boundary and was out of crease when bails are off and INDIANs appeal for a out. Bell was given out
To spice this Dhoni recall Bell as the match started after tea.
What you people think of this?
Was Appealing against the sportsmanship?
Isn't it careless of Ian bell?
Dhoni did wrong to call bell?

If I were in Dhoni's place I would not have recalled Bell. supposing India lose this match the loss is not only for me as captain but all my fellow players and 120 crore Indians. dhoni need not have done this.

And what about the sportsman ship?
Though bell was wrong the crowd there were telling umpires as passing "cheaters cheaters". All english are same from past they had cheated the world and when it came to them they fell acquitted.

Yeah we can't decide who's wrong or who's right, but Indian players ruined the sportsmanship. Players don't take bails out if he's not going to run, it against sport's spirit. Whatever this is a good moral for both teams

How can you tell that it is against the sportsmanship?
Are you crazy?
If you were there then what would have done? the same
It was bell fault and not the INDIANS player, according to rule they did by appealign for a run out.
I thinnk sportsmanship is to play fair and it doesn't mean that you give aways the fault of opponents.
Anyway it was bell who need to take care, if he is an International if must have understood such silly rules.

k rajeev let me tell you one thing, in so many matches the bowler stop bowling when the runner leaves the crease before ball deliver, in almost all the case no one let the bails out. Instead they gave a reply with a smile

Thaat is not mistke its willingness and there is no rule to get out till ball is balled so bowlers can't do more than giving a smile.
If it is there the umpire must used to warn the nonstriker to not do like it.

the decision of calling Ian bell was made by dhoni after the tea, so there must be some meeting from seniors and coach which influnce dhoni to have that decision.
About the vasline controvery let forgive Vaugan.

Dhoni didn't show sportsmanship by calling bell rather a mercy and his power as well trick people with his humbleness.
Yes it was Bell fault and he must had admit it.
As dhoni i wouldn't recall bell
and if i were there and would have done same mistake i have give my wicket and wwalk aways rather been forced to play on the mercy of some one's decision

High drama on day three just before tea session between England and India. I will stick with India for taking of the bails off and appealing for a run out against Ian Bell. Firstly the ball was in play and did not reach the boundry. In this case Ian Bell thought that his tea was getting cold and was in a hurry to get back to the pavillion. He was seen running to the other side of the crease when the bails were taken off. He just assumed that it was a boundry and as I said was in a hurry to take tea. The umpire had not even signaled for tea. So it was a silly mistake from Ian Bell and he should be more carefull.
To add more drama Dhoni called Bell back once the third session got underway. For this I dont stand with the Indian Captain. First he appealed and got rid of Bell and then after the tea session you call him back. Is this some kind of joke on Bell that Dhoni was playing on him. He should have stuck to his decision as Bell was at fault and should have waited at his crease till the umpire signalled tea. For sure whatever has happened will be talked about for a long time and the dust is surely not going to settle very soon..

Like you most of the INDIAN think that it was right but if you are an english you will not accept that decision.
As i mention People on ground, surely most of them were english shouting at umpire as Cheater. Isn't this bad.
It was silly mistake from bell and he must had suffered from it.
Dhoni decision as i say in above comment was team influential and take on pressure. Also Dhoni want to show that he is very smart man and playing his trick here on.

Although I am not a very big fan of Dhoni, but whatever he did, I liked that.
Well we must play with a sportsman spirit. I think whatever was done by Dhoni was a brave decision. and it will make the image of Indian team better in the world. And we must not forget that these people represent the whole Indian population so in my opinion it was a wise and brave step.

Yes dhoni decision was right but he must had take it before tha tea so to have more power in it.
How good we became the english will never accept the truth and always think bad of us. If you are in England or Australia you see the people reaction and offcourse the press( particularly in Australia). It will make you think aggain on what you say about the image of INDIAN cricket.
Yes the whole team represent the INDIA and thats why people have felling for them and want to know everthing and invlove in them too.

Well, it is difficult to say whether the matter was a genuine mistake on someone's part, or was there a intent in it. It becomes very difficult to make decisions in such cases for the umpires as well as captains, and they
have to decide very carefully.

If according to rule he is out he is out. No more questions and sportsmanship.
I remember when India and Pakistan match was going on in Kolkata, Sachin ran for a run and his bat was inside the line and then he collided with the bowler, Wasim Akram I guess, and Sachin's bat gets lifted in the air. The ball hits stumps. And Pakistan players appealed. Third umpire gave it as OUT!
Now what do you call it? Sportsmanship? No one recalled Sachin. Crowd went mad and they had to be evacualted and match progressed with empty stands.
I still think it was unjustified decision. And Pakistan should have withdrawn their appeal after watching the replay. They didn't. And mind you the match was in India!
Just play by rules fair and square, that itself is the sportsmanship. Purposely harming or trying to damage is what not sportsmanship.
So It is up to captain what he wants to do. Dhoni recalled. But why did Umpires ask him to take back the appeal. Why pressurize him? It is just unethical on the part of Umpires.
Useless to the core!
But it is okay at least India can be morally feel well and don't have to face irate English fans shouting Cheaters etc. But that is just awful spirit on the part of English fans who shouted at passing by umpires as "Cheaters!"
Happy Mylotting!

Yes you are right and a fine example you had given.
I also had a incident in my mind that while INDIA was playing and sachin was batting and pakistani appeals for catch behind though ball was too far of bat but motherf..k.. steve butonor gave him out and in replay it very clear that ball was more than a inch awya from bat but who care nobody bring sachin back and that match too was in INDIA.
If spotsmanship is needed than both team should give the way and not the one team.

@wismay: It was the 4th day of Asian Test Championship match between India and Pakistan at the eden gardens, Kolkata. It was not Wasim Akram, it was Shoaib Akhtar who came running from mid on towards the stumps blocking Sachin Tendulkar way and both were watching the ball. Both collided and Sachin bat was in air after the collision. Sachin was given out and Kolkata crowd became wild after that. Pakistan team did not call back Sachin and audience was forcefully thrown out of the stadium to continue the match. Pakistan won this match. India should have done the same, why overturned when Bell was careless.

Yes drama is going on this 2nd test match. And that was the 3rd day and this was the last ball before tea. And suddenly Ian Bell played a shot and ball goes boundary lines and a fielder pull the ball before boundary line but Ian bell take 2 runs and walks for go to tea because as he think this was a boundary but suddenly a through comes to keepers end and make him run out. But after that drama has begun because umpire give run out to bell but after tea Dhoni recalled bell for batting. I think this decision of Dhoni make a difference between both teams because this decision takes Dhoni from the motivation of Game Feelings. So I think that was a good decision takes from Indian team and Dhoni.
