Hi enigma!
Oh sure I'm one of those who think too much at times. There were instances that it resulted good but most of the time turns out very unlikely. Thinking too usually makes my mind stressed and makes me depressed. I over-think when there are situations that I'm uncertain of especially of the things to come or happen. The good thing I found in it is that I can anticipate as much possibilities as I could that might happen, but that is if I don't end up getting depressed. When we always think too much, our mind sometimes goes beyond the reality because we are afraid of so many things and that brings bad effects to us.
This usually happens when we are alone. So try to be busy physically or have some activities even when you're alone so that too much thinking will be reduced if not eliminated.
Have a good day!

I guess it wouldn't have hurt even if we think too much as long as we don't let it eat us. You have already said which part we've been wrong. Sometimes it's good to think of what we have done as an assessment, or the things that might be or will so that we can anticipate ahead what we should do next. It's just that we should not let those thoughts drown us. I'm also learning bit by bit and I'm happy with the results. I hope you'll be able to overcome it too.

we have the same experience. my over thinking leads to depression at times. i think about things that could've been, might have been, will be... you get the picture... and i let it eat me. you're right. i SHOULD learn to focus my energy on ther things instead of thinking too much...

All my life I loved to worry, I would take each problem apart until it was in small pieces, then I got to worry over each possibility. What a stupid waste of energy and time. I can only do what I can and then I ask for help. If there is nothing I can do I let it go. The world will do what the world does and the only true control I have is limited to a tiny part. When you get old enough you understand that your time is limited and if you can become wise you put that time toward things that you can do.

You know I think that is a problem with many people. Humans are analytical animals, they like to look at everything a lot of the time. And I'd be lying if I said that I didn't over think a lot of things. There are times where I look at a situation and over complicate some matters to a degree that while not intentional, it is just something that pollutes the level of fun and enjoyment that I might have.
So yes, there are times where I think a little too much. Of course there are times where thinking to an excessive level can be a good thing. It has gotten me out of a few fixes, that much is for sure. Of course it has time where it has gotten me into a different sort of trouble. Its a good thing to think but there are times where we think far too much, that much is for certain.

I don't see anything wrong in thinking too much so long as you're not thinking of bad things and if it's necessary for you to think. Thinking is a good exercise for our brains. I also think a lot of stuff when I'm alone, trying to see what will I do if a I will be in a certain situation, what should I do tomorrow, or Should I be doing something worthy instead of sitting and thinking? :)

It happens when you spend most of your time alone. You always look on the negative side of the picture. You should indulge yourself in some household work or contact some friend, have a chat with a family member. You can also visit some park or play ground to see life because in the park you will see birds, how free and simple is their life? In the playground you will see small children playing and giving you a lesson of carelessness and freedom. So, stop thinking and be positive and enjoy your life. Sometimes we make our life boring ourselves by narrow mindedness. Look around yourself and be happy. No thoughts no worries.

There are times when I think too much and it gets me in trouble or in a bad mood. Not always the best Idea to think, especially when it's over thinking. I usually can say "you need to just stop and relax" to myself and it works, other times I over think and it gets me in trouble.
