Captain America

Is it timely, that Captain America should come out now, when Washington DC and its House of Congress are all sleepless and jittery about what may be the outcome of their critical decisions for the country? Is he out to save the day? I do hope so! Well, my daughter and I had a good viewing of Marvel's series of Comic Heroes alive in the movies. After Thor, the god of Thunder, the limelight is now focused on GI Joe wannabe Steve Rogers transformed into the hunky and heroic Captain America. The story line is updated to conform to the new age, and hence we will have the shield protected red, white and blue hero brushing elbows with the super heroes of the new millenium: Iron Man, Wolverine, Hulk, Thor, and yes, that arachnid called Spiderman! The scriptwriters had truly done well, making the children of the new generation, believe in the idealism of their parents and grandparents - the American Dream - arguably prosperity and peace - all while being entertained by the silver screen. Captain America brings us back to the gripping unrest of World War II, when patriotism and valor is held in the heart, when life and love would have to take a hold for the greater good. For what does it give a man if he does not offer his self to the country and to the rest of human kind? That is Captain America, one selfless American, disposable when necessary, for he would sacrifice his own for the benefit of many! Which ordinary constituents might like to consider come election day again, would your representative take a grenade so that others might be saved. Chris Evans is a revelation, and I might as well comment on him now. I had known him to be a fine actor, believable in his early movie entitled Cellular and totally adorable when he essayed Johhny's role in Fantastic Four. But with Captain America, he had established his self as one good actor with no trick, no gimmick, just pure talent and intelligence. Would Captain America save the day? He would. More than the super hero, Captain America is already instilled in the hearts of the people. That is what Captain America's pygmalion pointed at as he was about to breathe his last. Surely, that heart will throb again....

This is such a cute post you wrote, mommy eileen! Didn't picture you to be a fan of comic heroes. I, too, watched Captain America with my geek husband. He was really excited and happy about watching the movie with me. I was happy too. :)

My daughter is already so excited about the Avengers. There was a teaser at the end of Captain America and my irrepressible daughter went nuts. She wouldn't move and actually commanded me to buy new tickets for another viewing. Sigh! I had to remind her about work today, and since she has an ogre for a boss... but her mind was on Marvel all through dinner...

I've seen captain America cartoons ever since I was a kid in the seventies and had and read comic books. Think super heroes have good values but whether or not some would still be relevant remains to be seen and I'm not so sure if Super heroes are good in solving economic problems

Believe it or not but Iron Man is in a financial wreck after he terminated Stark Industries. He was also losing hope that he would ever survive the sepsis that has sipped in his veins. As in life, there is always tomorrow. And truth is stranger than fiction.

The collateral damage is pretty obvious, hmmpphhh! But as always, the bad gets the upper hand till the ending. I still believe that everything will be all right in time...

I wonder who will pay when something gets destroyed by their actions, or if they pay taxes or own bank accounts cause they are not suppose to divulge their identitiesYeah truth is always stranger than fiction

Funny you should mention this. I'm just about to go see it at the movies in About 30 mins. I'm live in NZ so I'm not that up to date with what's happening in America. But maybe it can install some nation pride.

This was so well-written. I loved this movie. My only problem with it was that we saw it in 3-D and it was very dark and difficult to see. I thought Chris Evans did an excellent job as well. I can't wait to see The Avengers. I think that will be fantastic! My husband and I are going to see Captain America again this week -- this time not in 3D. I can't wait to see it again!

I have seen all those comic heros in cartoons on tv! I love Spiderman and the X-Men! Wolverine fasinates me! To bad there are no real super heros like Spiderman and Captian America! We should could use them in this day and age! Especially now the way the world is! We can dream!

Well, I don't really have the desire to see Captain America, but I do think that it is very timely for the situation that we are facing in the world right now. I think that there are a lot of great things that can be done in today's situation using the character of Captain America. It would be wonderful to be able to use the character of Captain America to show how things in the United States right now can be improved. With that said, lets make Captain America's character the next president of the United States.

Yes, I will vote online. We really need America in shape. But of course I know that that dream lives in the people. I saw that in the news yesterday. There was one 50 year old hard hat in New York who brought out his Karaoke lunch time and started to sing Sinatra songs to the people. All of a sudden, the place, filled with noise and supposedly drudgery, became a lively and hope-filled New York.

Wow, you should post your comments, and reviews on one of those movie review sites that would pay you big bucks. From what I read, it is a bit exaggerated about this movie. I knew it is a comic made movie, but with all that greatest, I don't think that awesome though. So, thanks your kinds and applause on this movie. I bet you and your daughter must like it a lot.

If you haven't done this, maybe you should become a movie reviewer. I haven't seen the movie, but for some reason that the image of Chris Evan's physique has become so prevalent. I've seen the thriller of this.

I've not watched the movie but i think i will spend some good money and time on the movie. It's nice judging from the marvel series, so i hope the director is able to do a good job on bringing it to the big screen. I don't want to be disappointed when there are good reviews and critics for it. ON top of it, it's representing america, and it had better be good.

The scenes are swift and the theme heavy. So dispense the pop corn when you can. Concentration is necessary. Important characters, like Stark, are on the sidelight. It is so easy to miss these indispensable people with the blink of an eye. Enjoy the movie, Captain America is everything and not just a simple animation. The Americans would do well to renew their faith in their motherland.

The present day Captain America is more interesting and the story line looks more inviting to watch than the old Capt. America movies. I have always been a fan of Marvel Super Heroes and grew up with their cartoons.

I watched the movie 2 days ago~ it was wonderful. It didn't disappoint me. It was no ordinary superhero story. I loved how the plot came about the past towards the future. and how they emphasized greatness in being a good man, despite being such a little guy.

Yes, the concept is a bit different from the other superhero tales. This one goes back to a time and age when a nation was living a dream and was caught in a world war. That time appears like a dream now, and it was brilliant the writers were able to juxtapose the then and the now.

I just watched Captain America last Wednesday, I know it's kinda late but it's better to be late than never right? Anyway, I remember when I was a kid, I watched a cartoon named Captain America but can't hardly remember his story but after watching the movie, I do now remember him especially his red-faced enemy. I was kinda sad on the ending when Cap didn't arrive to his date with Peggy since the plane crashed on an icy land. The Director didn't gave any clue about Peggy after the incident and is she still alive? If she is, Peggy might be in her 70s or 80s and if they meet again, it might be a good ending don't you think? haha! Just messing with the story. =)
