Which is more important nowadays, Career or Money? As we all know that we are in an economic crisis, and everyone should be up on their toes working or else they will get hungry. You can get a career that you want which is related to your major or your profession or your passion but not with high paying job or its not an in demand job. Some are satisfied because they are happy and it is what they want to do in life. But then there are also others who prefer to earn more money even if the job they have now is not their specialty or not related to the major that they took up in college perhaps. It could be a job that they dont want to do but because the pay is high they are willing to do it. I'm happy with my job because of the people but Im kind of in this position right here. Your thoughts? Thanks mylotters.

I think the only way to go is a career in the business field. we must create jobs to keep jobs around. If we don't create jobs and instead just look for open ones wont help. We need the attitude of CREATING. New ideas need to flourish to create a new field of jobs. People will never run out, but jobs will.

Yes and I agree with you on that. But then for you to be able to create more jobs for other people, you must already have reached the top and your goal is already way above. I mean that you already have your own business and that you are a booming entrepreneur. Otherwise, you will just be one of those who are still in the jobs world looking for something to do.

Yeah your right, my goal is way above. I shoot for the moon though, and if i miss at least i will land among the stars. :-) The only way to achieve is to set a goal. Im working on being an entrepreneur. Im barely gonna start college, im only 18. Im taking the business field, thas where the gold is. Its not about working for money, its about making money work for you.

the market is moving and changing all the time that's why we need a career something stable, its true that we have to be working all the time, but if you don't have a career its even worst, cause you receive a small paycheck which is not what we looking for. i ve been looking for a spot for long time i tried everything till i found it, and i going to keep it up.

Right now, I am kind of in the position where I was earning all the money that I need but it is not really my field. But I am still happy somehow because I can pay the bills, and save up for the future. It is definitely important nowadays that you have a stable job that you can count on.

I've always chosen to do what I'm passionate about. True, I could get a higher paying job. God knows freelance pay sucks and so does pay making the world better, but it gives me joy and what's more important then that, as long as I have food, basic clothes, electricity, and my mobility equipment.

I agree with you as well on that. Do what you love and you will never go wrong, as long as you have the basic things that you need in life, then there won't be any problem. Money is no value over the things that you love doing the most, even at work. Thanks for sharing!

I am one of those that have worked which is not related to what I have taken during college. Practically, I realized that I love doing what I have been doing now as compared to the course that I have taken before. Well, I am not earning that big, but I have survived and is happy with what I do. Well, there are people who may not like what they are doing but is there simply because they earn and money is definitely important for survival most especially if you have a family to feed. For me what is important, is that you enjoy your work and at the same time earn from it.

Good for you and if you feel that you are happy and that you made the right choice, well great for you then! It is true that you should enjoy your work and earn from it, that money is not always the most important thing, if you are happy wherever you are, then everything is gonna be fine!

With me, and my job right now, it is non - related to my major, to be honest. I would prefer to earn some extra money, and have myself in a safe ground first. Because as you mentioned above, we are in the middle of economic crisis, and we are facing anxiety too. So, having some money as your backup is a safe measure. For the future, we should look for something that is definitely related to what we study, and that is the career.

And I don't blame you, if I had a choice I would choose a career related to my field but then again, what's important right now is that I am able to fully support my family with the money that I am earning. We are in the middle of a crisis, and with that it is difficult to fulfill your dreams at the moment, but definitely there will come a time that we will be able to work in our chosen field.

If you are a family person I think money or earning is really important over career. Aim for a high paying job to compensate the need of the family. As long as the job that you are in is legal then there is no problem with that. Any ways as long as you are happy with career and it worth paying you then live with it, you'll soon love it.

I really agree with you on that and I kind of like feel the same with that right now. I am somewhat sharing 50% of the household's expenditures, and I feel like I am the second family man in the home. I don't regret it but then it's really difficult to choose your career over money. I would need more money to be able to suffice the things that we need in my family. I am happy with my career now and I believe that is the most important thing.

What is really important is that the path you take leads you to be financially free. Financially free in the sense of not having any debts and earning more than you're spending and the same time leads you to be wealthy. Being wealthy in the sense that you do the things you do on the time you wish to do it. Money is not the most important thing in this world however it is the key to what the world offers and affects those that are important to you. In line with this we spent 14 years or more in school so that we could earn money that's where career and jobs fit however there is so much problem regarding employment. 95% of the population flocks into employment however there are not enough jobs to compensate this huge population.I think that it is best to be an entrepreneur, not only you could do what you want to do, you could also do it when you want to do it and your time does not purely revolves on working that you forget everything else even your family.

Yup at least 15 years of our life or more we spend studying and so we should make the most of it. Employment is not a problem because there are a LOT of jobs out there, however the competition is tough so we should know what our priorities and what is the most important goals that we want to achieve. Money is not the important thing but it is something we need especially if you are building your own future or a family. Being an employee at first and when you have the resources, then being an entrepreneur would be a great option. Thanks for sharing!
