(Prayer is a part of one's life so I decided to post this one in this interest.)
I have observed in my Sunday School class as we have our Opening Prayer Session this kids find it hard to pray, they find it hard to focus, to just sit still and be serious no matter what I have explained to them how important is a prayer in one's life I find them not listening and not cooperating at all.
So I prayed for a way to make them understand the power of prayer,it is for sure hard to make them understand. At first I am hesitant and do not know what to do but then I am surprised, Glory to God, I saw Him really moved.
So I re-review to them our lesson on Prayer, told them again it's importance and It's miracles and then have them recite Jeremiah 29:13 before we start our prayer
"God said,For You will seek me and Find me if you shall seek me with all your heart".
I have them memorized that for them to understand that they should be serious and focused when talking to God, not on the things outside and on their classmates, as they oftentimes do.
Yesterday as we started our class, I had a little trivia to get their attention I taught them a little bit of my knowledge in Basic Sign Language for them to be able to talk to a deaf kid in the class.
Later as I asked them on their prayer request, for I require them to present their request to God every prayer time, for them to feel they're involved, and that God will hear them,as I asked Melinda for her prayer, she exclaimed "Teacher Jelaiza's Prayer is granted!". I know she's amazed but skeptical there's doubt in her voice.
A bit surprised I actually forgot what we prayed for her and she reminded me, that she asked for her aunt to go home, she went somewhere I think If I remembered it right they had some family problems.
I thank God for I know He is working in the lives of those kids and most especially I saw Jelaiza's genuine heart in every prayer we make, She has a special relationship with God for she personally experienced Him, one time she even testified in the class, while we talked about PRAYER AND HEALING, she said that when she was sick she prayed to God for healing and she said she heard the Lord saying "Yes, Jelaiza I will heal you".
That time when she told that in the class, other kids mumbled their disbelief and I am sad about it, and I pray that may God use Jelaiza's life as an example for the kids and through her they might see how God works.:)
God is good all the time and I am waiting for His surprises and I know the kids will change.
I wanted to know if you have ever tried to witness or hear how God works in Prayer?
Whether you believe or not that it will happen?
