I once saw a car sticker that said "I used to be conceited but now I know I am perfect". I think that a perfectionist has a very hard time in life because it is impossible to be perfect. Time in life can be successful and sometimes a person can have failures. If a lady is doing art work and she wants the work to be perfect she won't feel satisfied. An author won't feel that his book is good enough to be published if he is a perfectionist.

I would have to say that being too perfect will in fact make a person unhappy. Due to the fact that it is a goal that is pretty much next than impossible to obtain. We are all going to make mistakes, we are all flawed. We start out flawed to begin with, being human beings. Therefore we have an uphill battle and perfection is not something that anyone can obtain. There is nothing wrong with wanting to achieve a higher standard of life. That is really nothing that is wrong with something like that. However, there are some people who try and get to this higher standard of life to an almost obsessive degree. A degree that might as well have ruined a great deal of life and lead them down a road that they should not really be traveling. Therefore an obsession of perfection will lead to unhappiness.

I guess it is because having a goal to be perfect is somewhat unreachable. Nobody's perfect so to speak. So that no matter what he will do he will not achieve it and it will make him unhappy.

Why should someone aim to be perfect when everybody knows no one is? Instead, people should just be the best they can be.

Well Earth is full of diversities. Nothing seems perfect yet everything is. This is in our human nature. As a human you can't be perfect at anything any time. If you want the perfection then you will have to be some sort of god but you have to remember that once you try to become god then you will lose your identity as human and then surely you will end up being unhappy. so in a line, there is nothing as "perfect", its just the way you want to watch it. good day.

I guess it depends on person to person. Some people are happy being perfect and some people who are trying to be perfect but they fail everytime. It's just a thinking that i am perfect but what my opinion is nobody in this world can be perfect. So people who thinks they are perfect are happy with their perfection and those who are not are not are unhappy that why they can't be perfect.
