Can a person earn decent money trading stocks online?

I have always invested in stocks. In fact the earliest investment I ever made was in 1995 in the stock market. I have not sold that stock ever since. I believe that long term holding is certainly the best form of investment. However I would like to try my hand at trading of stocks or short term trading. Can someone tell me where I could get strategies for the same. Are there any good brokerage firms that are good at giving tips. I do not believe in short term trading but I know a few people who are able to earn their livelihood through trading. How do they manage that? If someone could let me know, it would be great.

Friend as i am new to this trading stock. So i can't provide you the exact thing. But will be glad to share with you whatever knowledge i have. In this trading online sector, My search says www.sharekhan.com is the bestest site ever. I can't say how much will you earn through this but what i can tell you is you can ask them to contact you and they will provide you with rest of the exact details.
