One learns the ins and outs of life, the do's and don'ts of a thing. What are these for?
Learning can happen to a person in different ways, anywhere, anytime. It does not only happen within the four walls of a classroom or library but in the vastness of the world where we live in.
Looking around, there are lots of subjects to be learned. The nature; flowers, trees, bees, mountains, seas, lakes, birds, etc. These can teach us lessons that cannot only be learned from books but in reality and through our experiences. Coming in contact with these God's creation can only bring us to thinking our littleness in this whole world of amazing creations, inventions and modifications.
We learn in order for us to appreciate the gifts we have been given and the gifts we are enjoying. We learn in order to improve ourselves, to progress and share these to people around us;our family, friends. But most of all, to give praise and glory to the one who is the greatest inventor and creator of all these. :-)

Hi janevi,
You're right, learning is not only confined within the four walls of the classroom. Just look around and we get to learn so many things from other people, places, and situations. We get to appreciate nature and thank the creator who made it.
You ask, why do we learn things? Of course, we learn things in order for us to survive. If we enter an occupation, we want to learn how to do it so that we will succeed. Same thing for all other areas or interests we're engaged in.

I've read so lot of vague questions here and this is definitely one them. We should learn for us to live. I think that's the main reason why we go to school, to get a job, to survive.

Agree! Learning is not confined within the four corners of our classroom. It comes from experiences and readings that we get from the newspapers or even what we learn from friends and people around us.
Well if one is uninterested in learning then that person must be contented being stupid.

yes I agree with you, learning is not only inside classrooms, or whenever we study,i think the best way to learn is through experiences, or just by being curious on some things, because whenever we are curious we ask and seek for answers, and it's better than taught in classes.

I learn something new each time I interact with a living creature, as human beings, animals and even coming to new places. Living every new days is learning. It's just to be aware of every new impression your mind register. Reading something you learn something new, hopefully useful for you. I'm continuous changing every day. Yesterday I was observing the ranks of horses. Who is the leader and those who are the followers. Each day I learn new words in English as I'm in an English summer class.

Why should one learn? I think a man has been sent to this world to learn. One spends his whole life in learning. One has to learn to live in this ever changing world. Things which one learns become one's experience for oneself and others. For example when a man burnt his finger very first time in the history, he learned that fire burns and it became a lesson for others.
What is learning for? It is nature of human beings that they always learn about what is happening around them? Sometimes we learn to earn. Every single skill or thing that one seeks is called learning. Life is learning every time.
