For the last couple of days, whenever I click on www.gmail.com, or www.hotmail.com, or www.paypal.com, or some other sites, I find the display of the following message and can never get access into the desired site. I herby mention the message I found a little ago on clicking www.hotmail.com - “This Connection is Untrusted You have asked Firefox to connect securely to login.live.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do? If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue. [ Get me out of her] Technical Details I Understand the Risks”. When I click on the ‘ Technical Details’ box, I find the following message- “login.live.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate has expired. The certificate will not be valid until 10/5/2010 5:30 AM. The current time is 3/26/2003 9:55 PM. (Error code: sec_error_expired_issuer_certificate)” When I click on the ‘I Understand the Risks’ box, I find the following message- “If you understand what's going on, you can tell Firefox to start trusting this site's identification. Even if you trust the site, this error could mean that someone is tampering with your connection. Don't add an exception unless you know there's a good reason why this site doesn't use trusted identification. [Add exception]” Can you suggest any remedy for it?

hello friend, try checking the date and time of your pc, an incorrect date and time would give you such messages especially if you access a secure site, if this happens from time to time then it could be a sign that you have to change your CMOS battery. How old is your PC? if you don't mind.

Yes, the date and time of my pc is incorrect, it gives the date when I first bought it. Thanks for your advice. I would change it immediately. For your kind information, recently a battery, I do not whether it is CMOS battery, or anything else has been changed.

I had this happen on my computer just a few weeks ago and it was getting me really frustrated. Well, I asked my husband what I needed to do to remedy the problem and then I realized that I had accidentally changed the date when I was checking the calendar. When I changed the date back to the correct date, I was again able to access the websites that I'd been having problems with when the calendar was set on the wrong date.

Redownload Firefox or try disabling some plugins and add-ons. If they're conflicting than they could cause some features not to work.
