We've known heroes as those who died for the country. Those who did great inventions. Those who gave their lives for someone else... But we don't consider the fact that heroes can be alive. Heroes can be people we know. In my life, my dad is my hero. Since I am small, he sacrificed the chance of being with me and my mom. He always have to go abroad and work, to give me what I want. He worked so hard for my studies and he worked so hard to give me a good life. And now that I am married. I still feel that I am still his little princess. He is still working abroad and would still ask me if I need anything. It's painful for me to see him and my mom far from each other. I am telling him its enough. Im telling him, to come home and be with my mom, he has to rest and enjoy. I feel that he lost almost half his life working for me and my mom. That makes him my hero. I know all dads are... but for me, there's nobody like my dad. How about you? Who do you consider the hero of you life?

I consider my grandparents to be my hero. They took me and my sister in when we was just babies and raised us with hardly no money. We didn't have much but we had each other and thats what counts in life.Sounds like you have a great hero in your dad. :)

I guess my modern day hero is my dad. He worked in remote places just to give us what we need. He is truly my idol and my hero. There's something in me that really wants to be like him.

Fathers are heroes... Especially those who work so hard or their families... Like my dad and your dad. I grew up having my dad far away, but I never felt far from him. He is far but still manage to be a dad to me.

Well now, I'm no hero. My hero would be my father. But if you look at people who became successful in business, I would say my hero would be Steve Jobs, creator and owner of Apple. So, My father is my life hero, Stave Jobs in my social hero.

If my parents should read this I am sure they will understand why I haven't picked them. I love them so much and they will always be my heroes for giving me this life. Hence, my modern day hero would be my daughter and the little one that I will be expecting next month. Heroes uplift and save lives, making things worth living. And my heroes don't do just that. They are my life and my life depends on them. They are the treasures that keep me going on everyday giving me all the bliss and all the reasons to live. They fill my once empty heart with passion on how beautiful it is to share life with them.

Understandable my parents are my true heroes. True indeed. But to be different. My hero that I desire to be with is me. I want to make a difference that will hold againt the odds that transpire me and make myself be all top of others. Deriving obstacles that comprimizing my way through perfection. Prevention of evil is the key, judgemental through good leads me to the non stop wave of the sea.

like you I consider my parents as my hero, it's also because of their sacrifice just to give us what we need and to bring us to a good school even that's mean that they will work hard just to pay for our tuition fee's and whatever we need at school, I'm just sad that some kids nowadays don't appreciate their parents like we do.

I can't say who is my hero. I have never thought of choosing a hero, maybe I don't need one. But I the thing I read here touched me so much. It's beautiful to feel that your father is a hero for you. We were been taught that the heroes are people distant from us who did great things. They are known around the world etc. But in fact our heroes are close to us, very often they are our loved ones.
