When I was a kid I was an avid fan of watching Filipino Telenovelas back in the 90's like Mara Clara or Pangako ko Sa yo or even Spanish/Mexican Telenovelas like Rosalinda or Betty La Fea. They were back in the mid to the late 90's um Betty La Fea was aired in the early 00's right?
For you what were the memorable telenovelas that aired in our local channels?

Hello! Glad to know that somebody here at myLot loves watching telenovelas too! Well, I'm also fond of Asian dramas, whether it's Korean, Taiwanese, or Japanese that made me sleepless for a week or two coz I buy complete episode of DVD than having to wait every night on television. *laughing* You might want to try checking out American series like Heroes, Alias, Prison Break or Desperate Housewives! I'm sure you're gonna love them too!
I remember Betty La Fea, Rosalinda and Marimar! They're great Mexican series!

Oh, these are my Filipino Drama Series favorites by the way: the original Mara Clara, Mula sa Puso old version, Coney Reyes on Camera, Maricel Drama Special, and more!

None of them as far as i see it.most of them are just running on the same story line only with different characters and so i don't bother spending a minute watching them. i have read from one article on the local newspaper calling them "recycled."

Stairway to Heaven! Not the Tagalized one of course. I so love the scene when Jodi is blinded and that she thought she was still talking to Tristan when all the while it is already Cholo, himself.

Oh how i love Pangako Sa'yo which starred Jericho and Kristine. I religiously watched it whenever i arrive from work. We would even eat earlier, so that when that is being shown, we would not be disturbed anymore.
Now, i am into Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin. It's a very nice soap too. Sadly, in 3 weeks' time it will already end. Hopefully , the replacement will be to my liking.
I look forward to our evening rest when we have something nice to watch.

Hi mew!
I used to watch a lot of telenovelas, too! I liked Marimar and the other one with Fernando Jose... I forgot the title. But Thalia was also the lead actress there. I loved the guy there. So handsome and macho!!!! Yummy. I watched a lot of these Mexican telenovelas but I already forgot a lot them.
I used to watch a lot of our own drama shows, too. I liked Ula. But I was too young then so I can't remember much of it. Most of the dramas I've watched too were in GMA7.

Telenovelas have really hit the market but sorry that most of them are too melodramatic that I find them really boring and not worth my time. Well there are good ones but very few. Now lately when I started watching Koreanovelas and I spotted the big difference. Koreanovelas are more worth watching because the story lines are really good, there are no melodramatic scenes, the story does not not drag and most of all I like the good values found in every story. They also do not do torrid kissing and embracing and I saw how respectful they are. The way they bow their head in respect to elders and authorities is really admirable. I am now a Koreanovela fan especially those aired in TV5 because the stories are really realistic and appealing to the ordinary people. I hope TV5 could air some more because all the good Koreanovelas in their channel have already ended.

I think that you're a certified Kapamilya. Well, I hope you don't mind if I prefer Endless Love. It's a "Koreanovela" aired on GMA7. There were a lot of telenovelas whom I considered memorable: Pangako Sayo and Maging Sino Ka Man, but I find Mula Sa Puso the best. I'm an avid fan of the original version of Mula Sa Puso.

Pangako Sayo is the most memorable telenovela for me. I'm not a big fan of telenovelas. Honestly, I don't really watch it. But Pangako Sayo is the only teleserye that I watched and completed. I love the stories and the characters.

Remember AnnaLuna and the other soaps? I also followed Mara Clara and enjoyed Betty La Fea. Right now we always have a Koreanovela and I really loved Baker King and Secret Garden. Also previously aired Koreanovelas like Jumong and Queen Seon Deuk.

Its been almost 2 years (?) - the year of Lobo & my girl (Kimirald) that started it all. Since then I've watched tele novelas of Momay, Santino, Noah, Agua Bendita and Green Rose; i intentionally did not finished till end the 'imortal' because it became corny. now its captain barbell, futbolilits & 100 days in heaven.I don't know what else but i don't go for soap operas like mara clara.

welocme to the wonderful world of mylot mew. i am not a fan of telenovela, but my mother always watch that. i guess more mothers watch it as the way to relax when all the house works and errands are finished. now that i have my own family my wife is not a fan of telenovelas too. she would rather watch NCIS, CSI and shows like that. but for me who is older than you i can remember my mother watching Analiza with the late julie vega as starring, and Aguila where Jose manalo of eat bulaga, that was his first project before he end up on eat bulaga. it was cool to see that Jose is now one of the funniest people on TV.

I also watch telenovelas usually I am able to complete a filipino telenovelas in the afternoon but those in the evening, I usually don't finish or watch the full story. I think I got more hook with foreign telenovelas like Marimar and some Taiwan and Koreanovelas than local telenovelas.
