Just a question. For example, I bought Adobe Acrobat 32 bit but then I upgraded my system to 64 bit. Do I need to buy Adobe Acrobat for 64 bit? Or is there anyway I can use the software for my 32 bit to a 64 bit?

I heard that 32 bit software can run on 64 bit machine but i don't know if its true or not since i don't have 64 bit machine.
Believe me 64 bit machine won't be good for everyone cause a lot of software and game developer make a software mostly for 32 bit machine and because 64 bit machine consumes more space on your harddisk than 32 bit machine.

I will say that I don't know of any legit way to accomplish it. There may be some less then honorable ways to get it done though I don't think that is the case either. In general the bit difference is how well encrypted the programs are for security and other various reasons. Do to that they are not compatible with each other. You will most likely have to make the purchase for a 64 bit program. The company may work with ya for just up grading at a lower price but that isn't 100%.

I think any software programmed using 32 bit can definitely run in a 64 bit machine, but not the other way around. 64 bit software can not run in a 32 bit machine.
This 32 bit or 64 bit versions of software has nothing to do with security. 64 bit computers are made to make computation faster. So for programs which are 32 bit versions, they will not be able to optimize or maximize the computation speed offered by the 64 bit machine. That is why some software companies make 64 bit versions of their software to take advantage of the computing power of a 64 bit computers.
These days, however, there are only few softwares that are 64 bit versions though the number is increasing because most computer processors are already 64 bit. I think from Intel core2duo above, it is already 64 bit.
Lastly, the software is OS dependent, if OS is 32 bit and installed in a 64 bit machine, then you could not run the 64 bit software, your OS should be a 64 bit version.
