I recently started a business. Even before it, I had lots of ideas for a business, yet I really didn't have the push to go through with it. After a sharing it with a friend, I realized that another person can actually help make it happen.
I go easy on myself all the time. Having a friend to share a business with, made me have someone to report to. And it has given me the motivation to well on this business that we've started.

You are right, having someone else in the business can help keep that task at hand in check! But don't you have any trust issues?
And if your business really grows, how are both of you spliting the profits? half? or based on merits?

The only trust issues I have is that, I am almost always too-trusting. That's why I've been burned a few times.
But I guess that's part of life and business. Taking a gamble, and putting trust in people so that in turn we may realize some goodwill, and some profits.
Yes, 50-50 split.

I will keep it to myself. Because if the person or people we shared it with, have the means to get started, it would mean my idea is no longer fresh, and i would be seen as the imitation when i'm actually the creator.. haha So it's better to keep ideas to ourself, protect our best interest. BUt if i'm one with lots of business ideas, i won't mind to share it because i have nothing to lose, and providing business ideas can be a form of business too ^^

You mentioned you will keep it to yourself, would you find a way to get the idea roll into something big by yourself?
You are on to something! haha... ideas provided could really be a form of business! Just by selling ideas could really earn.. Though won't you be jealous if one day, that idea becomes big like Facebook?

I would definitely not share the idea with the large circle of people. I would find myself a couple of business partners amongst my friends and tell them about my plan. I think that together we would be able to get the business running. Sharing the idea with strangers may be dangerous, cause there are people who steal the ideas of others to use them as their own and get rich.

I understand. Strangers can't be trusted until you know them. The thing is what if your friends, I am just saying, what if one of your friends backstabbed you and used the idea and get famous?
I think this way because, people do change over time. You wouldn't know whether they will stay true to you or your group forever, right? There is sure lots of temptations around.

Yes but only with a few close and trustworthy friends that I have known for years. Because I am awfully suspicious about a lot of people you never know if they would betray you and just take your idea and they would be the sole proprietor of the business you thought of. But on the other hand it's really tough to keep a business by yourself, a business needs constant activity to grow, it needs to be well rounded and you need human resources for that.

True indeed! You can never tell someone's true intentions. But i do hear cases of close and trustworthy friends can turn and back stab you due to unforeseen circumstances where people do change over time.
I guess doing a business is never an easy task. Otherwise, the world is filled with entrepreneurs!

i think I would rather start on my own and work on it on my own. Since it will be my first time to start a business, I think it would be better to figure things out on my own. I think working on a business with a partner especially if you used to be really close friends or relatives might just stain your relationship especially business is mainly about money. So I would rather be on my own. Maybe when someday, I'll become skillful, I will have partners.

You sound like an independent person! Good for you! But i believe doing or starting something by yourself is a very difficult process. Friends or helpers are needed to make that task enjoyable!
I agree, when one's relationship involves money, it often can lead to unnecessary quarrels... But if both understand each other well, things can often work out. It's just trust issues that I think is not easy to have.

Depends if I can find someone trustworthy enough to tell and not have them go behind my back, start it out without me, and make billions of dollars. I know a few people who may just as well do that and it would be while not impossible, very time consuming to prove that it was my idea. I'm sure that has happened to many people out there. There are just some people who cannot be trusted to keep things on the down low.
Of course the point is rather moot as I have no ideas that are feasible right at the moment. Perhaps some day I might. There is always new day, that blooms new inspiration and that is really going to lead to a lot of interesting ideas. However right now no ideas. If I did have any ideas, I'm pretty sure that I would share it for someone who is trustworthy enough and even then only if I felt confident they would be able to assist me.
