Can't you find a cheaper place to rent? How close to being paid off is your car? Maybe you could sell it and use the money to buy a cheaper one. There are a lot of things you can do to cut expenses and just because you're in the USA doesn't mean you don't have to control spending.

what makes you think i dont control my spending?? in new jersey, 849 is CHEAP for rent. I hae 11000 left on my car. I meant living in the USA means people should not be "" this close to homeless at any time... i pay 300 dollars in TAXES from every paycheck plus 110 for insurance and gas is 4 dollars a gallon.

Well, it's like this. I paid $6000 for a car 10 years ago and I'm still driving it. My insurance is very low - around $300 a year because the car is old and I'm a good driver. I also pay $110 for insurance each month and gas is close to $4 a gallon here. I pay for all the maintenance on the house plus property taxes because I own it. I've advised people on how to handle their money for years now (a paid position) and I've yet to see anyone who complains of a car payment who couldn't make some adjustments and get by just fine.
I don't intend to be rude, just commenting.

Welcome to the rest of the world, America! Still, you have a way to go to match gas here at GBP6.00 or about $10 a gallon!

I imagine how this situation can be difficult. It's pretty hard in these days to get a good job that pay a decent money. But, maybe you can win some extra money online in your free time, that probably is very short because of yours 2 jobs.

I guess everyone hates being broke. I guess it's just a matter of proper management of the resources that we have. Find a better paying job, accept part-time jobs or sell something. There is always a way , you just got to have the will.

I am always broke also and I hate it! I work a full time job and all my money goes to paying my bills! I am lucky if I have enough money to buy food! Not to mention my health insurance barely covers what I need to be done! I hate the fact that hard working people struggle while those on welfare (who are able to work) get everything covered for them!

You are but human for pessimism to really draw in. We all have such challenges we're facing right now. I really would hope it wouldn't be much of a hustle if I remind you that you, kind friend, have already everything you need to be happy.
It is much appreciated that you are opening up because we'd all go insane if we didn't. Although I'd want to share my own story but I'd rather presume that you are loaded enough to be thinking of your own.
I would love to advice but I'd rather let you live your life for your experiences will be yours and mine will be mine alone.
Please believe with me when I say that everything happens for a reason. :)
Cheer up, at least the sun is still shining and we still have those wonderful sunny days.

I can certainly understand how you feel. Things just aren't getting any easier for a lot of people. My husband and I have graduated from university within the last year, and it's difficult to find work. It's just really not easy at all. We can certainly understand how you feel.

Welcome to my world! I am broke all the time! On my last paycheck I thought my hours were screwed up. Checked into it and they weren't! So I was expecting my check to be bigger! Thanks to it not being bigger I had to lower some of my normal monthly payments! I can't afford to pay my water bill until next pay check! I had a part-time job! I was making extra money and I was doing ok! Since I lost it,the people I worked for have really bad money issues,I have been struggling! That extra income was great! I keep hoping I can get my old part-time job back but until I can I feel in once inwhile. It is better then nothing. So now I am always broke and it sucks sh*t!

I feel your pain and I hope things look up soon. Definitely see what you can do to reduce expenses in the meantime, that is high for rent depending on where you are and you may need to look at it. Car loans in my opinion are always bad news, it's much better to save a little and buy a cheap car if at all possible. Hope your boyfriend heals up and you get feeling better. Try not to stress too much, a lot of us in the US are in the same boat!

I understand how you feel. Things are not easy almost on everybody these days. Even those who have degree has difficulty in grabbing at least one job. As to those who are working, monthly income is not enough to pay all the bills and buy the basic needs. Life is not only hard but its getting harder every year. Almost everything that we need to have is soaring pretty high that we cannot afford to have. Sometimes you think its really unfair. :(

Sometimes life gets serious all of a sudden and does not give us enough time to even think about whats going on.This is where all our strength is required.Focus on your problem and definitely you will find some or the other better option to get out from there.Support from our beloved ones always gives us a boost to go on.So dont get upset because we know you have that brave heart to solve all your problems.good luck

In my country and in the place i grew up you can see lots of homeless people. Their children running around the streets not bathed and naked. I can see the suffering barely making it everyday to survive. They have a meal once a day only. It's so sad to here that from someone in the USA, were they put it as the land of milk and honey and of plenty. Good luck with your situation, strive hard and you can make it and be thankful for all the little blessing that may come along.
