That would sort of depend as sometimes the lie can be the truth as the person sees their point of view with the situation. Knowing it is a lie for me will always be a lie no matter how many times the person tries to convince me otherwise. If they continually persist it will be hard to know if they can ever understand the truth and or say the truth.

Heyya Lore! I think that a lie in an intentional untruth. The thing is that there is perspective to consider when people describe things. One is example is if they are describing a robber. I might say he was short...you might think he was tall. Neither is a lie. It is the way we looked at them. Maybe someone said something about another that would not have bothered them at all...but the person they said it about took great offence and said the someone was a mean person for saying it. Maybe they aren't at all and never meant to be mean...it was all in the perception of the other.
There are times I think that there is intentional meanness and lies..but I think the definition of a lie depends on who is recieving it sometimes.

I do think many lies are effective because just a little truth is weaved into them! Whereas if no truth is in them, perhaps they would collapse, as I feel truth stands and untruth falls.

A lie is something that isn't true. It is the opposite of truth. I think it can be subjective in the mind. For that is the only place it is, not in reality. A liar is also a perjurer and a prevaricator. Even the smallest of lies does no one any good. Someone usually learns the truth.

Lies are thoughts or ideas concealed in the reality of what is given on that period of time. Sometimes truth came out to be lies, and winners will be the one to declare if it is a lie or a truth. We may see that in histories of some countries in times of coup d'etat there was always two side of the coins but whoever is the winner will be considered telling the truth in their history though it was a lie.

To me a lie is not a point of view, it can only be told by someone who knows the truth. Once it is told it can be repeated by an unknowing person, but I would call this an unwise statement or even gossip. The truth can be embellished but will always have truth at the heart of the statement. I wouldn't call that a lie but rather truth told as a story rather then the straight truth.

Hi Lore2009..
A lie.. is what it is..a lie..
You can have lies, that shall we say,'benefit' others, such as lying about a surprise party or something along the lines of that.. but if within those lies you go 'extending' actual truth then..thats a different story..
I mean..whats the point in lying at all? There should never be any need for it.. I mean if you have made a genuine mistake (*which all mistakes are*) why are people subjected to instant guilt? But feel no remorse when covering their tracks through lies? It makes no sense to me..
It only hurts yourself and others involved?.
