What do you think of the whole checking in somewhere on facebook. I've done it once or twice, but was kind of iffy about it. It's almost like telling everyone you know every move you make. And on a more serious note it could be dangerous. A stalker or thief could read it and find you or break into your house. They have talked about it on the news before that it is possibly very dangerous, but I think it has just gotten worse! The same thing with twitter. I don't "tweet" and I think the whole website is a waste of time actually, but some people are serious about using it. In my opinion not everyone wants to know what you are doing every second of the day lol. General posts are fine in my book, but telling what and where you just ate is a little much!

I agree. I use FB, but I don't post every little thing that I do. Normally, I'll just post a random thought that is going through my head. What I use it most for is to talk to people that I went to school with, and are now living in other states. We send private messages to each other. It's a great way to keep in touch with people that I haven't seen for years, and will probably never see in person again. And yes, like you, I have thought about "what if someone sees that I'm not at home, and decides to break in"? (such as my ex)

I'm pretty sure that I feel the same way! I am honestly the type that will occasionally post. Unless it's something that people will care about, I need to vent or I want opinions or comments. the rest of my fbing experience is usually gaming or chatting with people!

i feel the same way as you are, there are so many users of facebook that post everything they do,or wherever they are, like here in the philippines so much crime just happened because of social sites, and some also do the eyeballing which they meet up with a friend that they really don't know and just meet there. i think it's for the users to realize that what they're doing can endangered their life.

Like you suggested, we need to think about the information we put on line. We must also remember that there are people who look for information for wrong purposes. These ever present online social networks can really suck us in and we sometimes forget to think.

I don't post almost everything about me like what others are doing in FB. I'm glad setting information are optional. I agree with you, posting too much information could be dangerous. You could be an easy target for kidnapping or robbery. Posting every small details like when your connection is slow, or telling what you are eating is somewhat annoying.

It's not something I'm bothered about when using facebook...I treat it as a "need to know" thing..I don't feel everyone in my family,(let alone on my friends list) wants or needs to know where I am and what I'm doing 24/7! If I'm on the site,I'm available..if not, leave a message..

I think that posting your location is definitely a security hazard. Why would you want anyone to know exactly where you are at all times of the day?? There are so many criminals and sick people out there who could make use of that information, and I would never disclose my location constantly in that way. Be safe online people!

I know many people give out to much information on Facebook. We hear to many times how a person is harmed from their posts. I'm very careful and never tell anyone that I'm at a certain place, as you just don't know who could read the post.

Hi. Yes, I think Facebook is like an open Diary. People just give too much information there, their schedule, where they at, what they are doing, where they are going. It's crazy.

i agree with on that... though i use facebook, and sometimes i put up details on my whereabout, but it all depends how you would really gamble in putting about your whereabout.. people should really be aware in giving out information, especially the vitals ones...
