How do you feel about Global Warming

United States

I live in Texas and we are suffering. Last summer was bad but nothing like this summer. The heat is unbearable. Currently, I am vacationing in Colorado. While it is cooler than Texas, Colorado has been experiencing warmer than normal temperatures. And I hear and read that many other states are experiencing unusual and unbearable heat this summer. I don't know what think. Is it just a very hot summer? Or does this have something to with global warming?

It's because of Justin Bieber. That haircut of his has become very popular and it keeps more heat on people's heads. Because of this lack of free movement for cooler air into and away from the hair, the average temperature of teenagers' heads has risen. This, in turn, heats the surrounding air even more and causes hotter summers. Honest.

When all else fails, we always have Justin to blame. Better yet, could this be punishment for our sins?

I feel it is happening and it is real but sadly there is nothing we can do about it! Each idea that comes up , there are more and more reasons why we can't do it.So I just thank G-d for air conditioning, and see what happens next.

I would say come to my hometown but we are known for hazy hot humid summers. but this year we either had hot days that weren't humid or humid days that weren't too hot.Now I know I can take heat but not humidity!

Oh, we had such a miserable summer in Central Texas. We set all kinds of records. I do not know if it is because of global warming or not. I do know that I am looking to leave this part of the world but not just because of the heat. I have been here a long time and looking for a new environment -- need a change. However, even if I did not need a change, I would be looking to leave if these kinds of summers continue.

The weather has been very much unusual at times, in different parts of the world. Temperatures in different parts of the world have been varying unusually at times. Reports have been saying that arctic ice is melting fast too. These must be the signs of global warming.

The weather has been strange all over the world. But is it because of global warming? Or something else? Maybe the world and its climates just change. And maybe it will change back. Or maybe it will keep changing. Is it because of something that humans have done? Or is it just the way of the universe?

I'm very concerned about the planet. All people says they are concerned too but few walk the walk, even when the route is short. Most prefer driving. In addition to more healthy, walking is good for the planet. I do what i can do:- i dont have a car. i recycle my trash i use solar energy i dont use disposables. i prefer to buy products that contains little packaging and are recyclable. and i'm considering putting a wind turbine on my residential home.

there is no poor people??? Brazil is champion in recycling, you know?? Here: the people who have no job or is homeless ,they seek in the streets all that can be recycled and resold to recycling plant. Today there are recycling cooperatives that gather, sort and prepare to transport all things that can be purchased by Recycling Plant. Theses cooperatives are making a good profit and employing dozen of people paying good wages. All they have a car and still have money to building own hoouse. This recycling market is a gold mine.

I, too, live simply. I do not drive relying on walking and public transportation. But, I live in Texas where owning a vehicle is considered a necessity. Texans are not big on public transport. I am one of the few people I know who does not drive. And I can not recycle my trash because it is not offered in my apartment building. At my last location, I did recycle. How we treat the earth may be how the earth treats us.

This is definitely global warming trying to make its presence felt. I know that change is constant and unstoppable but OUR carelessness expedited the process. I live in the Philippines and we are known for our tropical climate. But the heat we experienced last summer was unbearable. And now that it's the rainy season, the amount of rainfall recorded was at an all time high. Towns remain submerged in flood even after the storms. People living in coastal areas are the most affected since the sea level is constantly rising. Islands we used to play in are now under water. According to studies, the Philippines are one of the countries who will just vanish from the Earth eventually. Such scary thought. If this is not global warming, I don't know what this is.

There are many viewpoints about global warming. I have listened to both sides. They both present good arguments. All I know is that we are having a wicked summer in Centsl Texas.

I feel like only time will tell, really. There have been other cycles of excessive heat. I know we are hotter than I ever remember it being. Of course some of the winters we have had have been excessive as well.

I agree with you. Time will tell. Climates change. The earth changes. We had a very severe winter last year and now a most severe summer. I don't know if it has anything to do with global warming.

On my travels I think a lot about global warming. I traveled to New Zealand and there they have a hole in the ozone layer. The sun there sun burns people very easily. It can be a dull day and sunny for just a short time yet a person can get sun burnt. This shocked me and made me think about why this happens. I traveled to the Maldives in 2005. Due to global warming the sea levels are rising which means the Maldives will disappear under water in around 50 years time. The government has a plan to re-house the people in India, Sri Lanka and Australia. Losing a country is very sad. I have done lots of snorkeling in tropical destinations and I notice warmer seas are killing coral. The coral reefs might be lost due to global warming which would be ever so sad. It is worrying some summers are way more hot than usual due to global warming. I live in England and our summer has had mixed weather: cool to warm. Today in lovely and warm. We had mild winters and then last winter was very cold indeed.

Interesting response but are all the changes that you have noticed on the planet due to global warming or do climates just change? Maybe, the earth is just evolving. Once we had dinosaurs and then we had an ice age. Maybe it was just time for change / maybe it is time for change. I don't know. I do not have any answers.

i think it has something to do with global warming, i live in the Philippines and we also suffer from extreme heat during summer, but this summer the heat was not just extreme, it was intense it was so hot that even my small electric-fan cannot satisfy my need for coolness. i can really feel the power of global warming here in our country, and i wish i can stop it.

Today, it is going to be 106 degrees. And it will be like this the rest of the week. It has been like this for weeks and it is unbearable. Is this because of what we caLL global warming? Or is the planet just changing? Last winter was a really severe winter -- extremely severe. Is that because of global warming? Or a change in climate separate from global warming?

I think global warming do exist though some people may argue against this. According to the temperature records, tree ring studies, pollen grain layers, we are experiencing a warmer period than people used to have experienced. However, some people suggest that this is just a normal cycle which the temperature is getting to its peak at the moment. Yet, in order to prevent the temperature from getting higher and higher so as to prevent disasters like rising of the sea level from happening, we have to cut down our use of fossil fuels which release greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide.

I keep hearing about global warming but do not really understand it. I am at work now but plan to do some research on it this weekend. There are definitely two schools of thought when it comes to global warming.

I have the some puzzle with you. Different from you, I live in china, a coastal city. But the same, the climate is abnormal these years since 2008. In 2008, most part of china suffer from blizzard. It is extrimly cold. And my city, recent days, suffered from hard rain. From my perspective, it has something to do with the global warming.

Climates change. The world gets hotter. The world gets colder. It has happened throughout history. Is it something that we humans have done or is it just nature? That is the question.

Definitely! It must have something to do with global warming. I live in Guangzhou and study in Tangshan, the city that had an earthquake that had killed about 300,000 people. The heat in Guangzhou is unbearable. And Tangshan is getter hotter and hotter. I know global warming is progressing.

I sm currently in Colorado and it is cool today. Later, I am flying back to Texas which is suffering unbearable heat. I am not looking forward to it.

Convinced there is global warming, big changes in climate is normal, but would span over several years, but the last several years the changes are very noticible year on year..

I don't like too much heat especially during the afternoon whenever I wanna sleep. I'd rather watch TV or movies during that time rather than get some shut eye because it's very uncomfortable. Although it's relief that it already stopped raining here in my country. It had been raining here the past few days so I appreciate it starting to shine again.

I do not like the heat myself. I stay inside my air conditioned apartment whenever possible. I only go out when necessary.

Oh man, I don't like turning the air conditioning on during the day. My electricity bill is too high already. There was a time when I just hung out with friends in a mall just to avoid the heat.
