I have really been more careful lately to preview and to edit but I somehow moved my left hand over one key and got kives instead of
loves. Am I the only one who makes these dumb errors and always
sees them just after I hit post response? your take fellow mylotters
odd that just one error in hand position can ruin a good response
so quickly.Your take fellow mylotters? Sometimes I think I get in a hurry then is when I make errors.

Hi Hatley, after reading your description I find the differences between "kives" and "loves" are the first two letters, k and i instead of l and o. The four letters mentioned are found on the right side of my keyboard. Means that I use my right hand to type any of them. I wonder we have keyboard of different type arrangement of letters. Yeah, i and o are sitting side by side on the upper row whereas k and l and are close neighbors just below i and o. Therefore it's quite easy for us to type them wrongly if we hit on the needed key just a bit left or right, up or down skewed as they are so close.
Such situation happens to me every now and then if typing in hurry. Or at time occurs when we are really exhausted doing our typing work for quite a long time and our fingers seem to be not that agile To avoid such error I usually would like to reread my sentence after ending with a full stop. Even though error still seen in my sentences lol... I find mylotters are very smart and still can understand the content fully even such typos happen to be seen in the post
Happy posting

hi lkb ooi yes exactly I think I moved my hands over one key but am not sure. the thing is I had been going down line by line correcting any misspelling yet somehow I missed that one and it was a glaring error too; I am glad so m any claim they can still read our discussion even though we miss goofs at times. the funny thing is one actually saves time if one slows down enough to just edit each line as you go. lol

I think you have the greatest description of love I've ever heard.
I wish my hubby were that good. He used to be. He's really sick now and I'm nursing him here at home too.
He gets around some but sometimes his mouth gets out of control and I'd like to slap his face........but, can't do that cuz I know he is a man I fell in love with a long time ago and really he doesn't mean to be bad.
Be glad you have your son. Life would be totally empty without him. Does he have children or is he even married?
Ok, I am off to bed. Hope you have sweet dreams...

No my friend, you are far from the only one who ever does this. I have done this many times myself. It can be quite annoying and frustrating, and makes you wish there could be an edit button on here for sure. But all you can do is either post another thing letting them know what you meant, or hope everyone understands.

hi tina and pointless questions. its so easy isn't it to hit
an adjacent key and make the intelligent word you wanted to say
into some odd creation nobody will understand then I have to comment on my own response or comment. lol still think we need one more edit

I make mistakes with my iphone all the time mylotting. It's easy to make mistakes.. you hit the right keys but if your finger touches another key also (they are close together) you might get some word you didn't intend to write. It's intuitive and will say some stupid thing that you didn't write.

I usually check my post before I hit "post response". However...when I don't read it, there's always an error or two. I have no idea why I sometimes forget to read it or hit the button too quickly...a moment of madness perhaps?
It happens to the best of us dear Hatley so we are all in good company.

I've done it before, I've noticed lately it's missing one letter out of something. Usually the beginning letter. I saw you did that in a response not too long ago "how" instead of "show".
We all do it, and feel silly afterwards. Kives is pretty big, but I've done it before as well, not Kives but you get what I mean.

hi someCowgirl yes I remember that how instead of show, I think I get in too much of a hurry then I make errors. but that time I
thought I had edited each line but I missed that one only until I
hit post and up comes kives ouch! I used to get so much done in the evening but my roomie has made it so iffy as she insists I must turn out my lamp at ten, when eleven is my bedtime.she is one who wants to go to sleep when the sun goes down although the women sleeps almost all of the day too. I tried to tell her that her nagging was causing me to make errors as it was irritating me but she does not understand. She has Alzheimer so its understandable but hard to live with. Also she resents that I have a computer and she does not.well darn I have had my computer since long before I ever had to come to this place I cannot help what she has or does not have,.

Hello my sweet Hatley!
Not to worry my dear I have done it too! lol I have carefully placed a response to sit and wait for the page to load it in and Oh my there was a mistake and sadly nothing we can do to change it. You always do great in returning back and correcting and lots of us at times don't even noticed the errors as our minds picks up the editing somehow.
After so many participation's here I think all of our mind are self editing so not to worry.

Hi HWG Oh the suns coming through a slat in th eblinds and I am too lazy to get up and move it.ol.Yes I always seem to find one error no matter how careful I think I have been just after I hit post response and then its too late. I do hurry to point out errors where the typo is reversed letters as some make no sense at all. I have noticed I too see my mind filling in for errors others have missed and think thats neat thatwe can do that. there are some by struggling ones with English as the second language where I have been hard put to figure out just what they meant. Sometimes I will be really gentle and ask for a little more explanation because I do not want to hurt anyone's feelings.they really do start getting better and better as they go along too.

I have neglected to put in 'no' transcribed a word, put in a negative when I meant a positive, did not write the rest of the sentence that better explained mu position and then I had to put a comment that said "I meant to write," Been there, done that. I think in my case, I think that what I am considering of writing or planning to write has already appeared on the screen. Have to remember that the computer keyboard is not activated by thought process.

I was not in edit. Seldom use it as I usually edit as I go along, but most of the time I was a bit tired and not thinking. I did have responders who never read the whole post and just what they wanted to see, so even if I corrected it, sometimes I felt as if I had done no good.

hi suspenseful thats really annoying as usually they respond and I am thinking they did not read all of my discussion or they wou ld not have said that, and I too wondered if somehow I had not made my words clear enough but really I think more often its them at fault not us Suspendeful.I really do read all the discussion first as otherwise I could make a silly response that would not have any bearing on the subject of the discussion. lol

hi suspenseful I have done that too. yes that would be wonderful if'
our thought process just pushed it right on out there all nice and clean. lol. I have left off words too like with with out the out so that the sentence did not mean what I meant to say at all. so had to rewrite it but at least I was in edit and had not hit post. lol lol

No, Hatley, you sure aren't alone in that one ...not at all. I type without looking and sometimes I'll look at the tv and type. sometimes I watch the screen as I type but all it takes is for me to pause and take a sip of my coffee. If I place my fingers back on the keyboard wrong and am not paying attention, I do the same thing. It's very easy to do and I bet most of us have done it from time to time.

hi neil thats exactly what happens to me,usually I am careful I prevues and then edit but come too close to the deadline I get
in a rush, and haste as my dad used to say makes waste.I type too fast and once had my fingers on the wrong keys so ergo a real
mess, but that I found before I hit the post button. So from now
on I intend to slow down a bit, make less errors and have more
fun doing it.

You are not the lone ranger on that. I think I have re-read as I went along and then I post it and find all kinds of errors. Or it is just fine and it goes to the sign in page again. Hasn't but once today(knock on wood!)and I hope not again. Nearly through for this even. You take care.

hi celtic eagle I was hoping others also saw misspelled words after they hit post and I had been so careful to check each sentence
yet I missed that one very strange word.So the only thing I could do then was post a comment on my response and explain the error and what the word was supposed to have been.

In fact, same like you, i am always doing some typing errors whenever i am in a rush. Only when I re-read my posted responses then only i realized my typing errors. Seems like, i need to re-read first before i posted it, so can amend the mistake. Hopefully, those who had read my responses will understand what i mean. After all, i don't make the mistake intentionally, just accidentally.

I make all sorts of mistakes. In part I blame it to my hands (not young anymore) and to this black keyboard (in my time the letters were black). But I have also found out that the keyboard is as old as myself. It is beginning to sound like those old typewriters. I´ll have to buy myself a new one.

I wonder if now noone has time just because we have become slaves of machines. Then there was a time to talk to real people looking at each other´s eyes. Now I wonder how my grandchildren meet his friends. They are either at the computer or with a cellphone or listening to music without any awareness of the world outside.

I tend to do that more often on my iPhone, and it either corrects me, turns the new word into a word in the dictionary (tge instead of the, for example), or does something entirely different, like when I try to type "incase" but hit a wrong key, it'll fill in "invade." AARRGGHH!! There is a while site dedicated to stuff like that, mainly created by iPhones. The site is called http://www.damnyouautocorrect.com Funny funny stuff!!!

I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I always preview what I type before I post it. But that's not saying that I don't miss anything. I also mispell a few words here and there.
It doesn't really bother me when I see other people's post with errors. As I see that being a perfectionist is 'my problem' and not others.
We still kive you Hatley, even with the errors!

Hi Hatley,
Things like that happen on my iphone when I use it to mylot.. so to rectify that I use the preview button to check it over so I can edit if I need to. I don't usually hit the preview button when I am on my computer because I touch type and make very few errors... I probably should though just in case.

hi pointlessquestions I mostly touchtype but usually do the
preview then edit first and clear it all up. but what was so
funny is I was going down the lengthy comment line by line so
something so obvious as I kive for I love should not have been
missed but I did not edit just did line by line and still missed I kive. I really wanted to laugh then cry as I was trying to hurry a bit and instead goofed up. lol lol.
