What is the earnings potential here?

United States

I have just joined this site tonight and I have to say it looks like a lot of fun. I'm here mostly to network with others and gain ideas on topics and issues to write about. However, since it is offered, how much money can one expect to gain? I realize that the more you put in the more you get out of it, but can you make any tangible income by using this site, or will you simply make 20 bucks a month and be happy with it?

@ swirlz. Yes we can also earn from playing the games but we do not receive our earnings directly from myLot. http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq23.aspx

Yes, the more time and effort you can devote to placing psotings and responding to postings, the more you will earn. On top of that, there are tasks offered, and if you can complete them successfully, that will enhance your earnings. Keep checking the available tasks list regularly, and you can choose the ones you feel confident on. Happy myLotting !

Umm, I can't make 20 bucks a month here, not even the minimum payout of 10 bucks. But then again, I'm not active, so who knows how much the active ones earn a month. You'll probably have to be active and have lots of referral to earn that amount every month. And what do you mean by tangible income? You mean, get rich? Ha! I don't think so.

Ha, by no means rich. However, there is a difference between earning a few pennies a day as opposed to knowing that you can earn enough to buy a ticket to a ball game, or pay for your next tank of gas, or something like that.

Well it depends if 10 bucks is enough for that. Here that's equivalent of 400 pesos. I could buy a shirt with it. Maybe around 8 liters of gasoline? I don't know the price of a ball game ticket, I haven't been to one.

It depends because in my area 10 bucks can get into some sporting events. I also have no idea why I said ball game.....I sound like 1956 or something.

The more time you have available to be here then the more likely you are to earn. The more fun you have and the less thought you give to your earnings, then the sooner they will add up. When you get up in the morning to you think about how many conversations you are going to have with your offline friends? Do you count how many words you use when talking with them? When they are speaking with you, do you just stop talking and go off and do somthing else - or do you listen and join in and have a laugh with them? MyLot is the same. Find an interesting topic and state your thoughts in responses and multiple comments without noticing if your points go up or how many words or lines you are typing. Just have fun and then the next day you will see the rewards even though you were not thinking about them at the time. Welcome to myLot!

Thanks for your advice, and I have actually considered your points. I am a freelance writer so I am essentially on my computer all day. Hopefully that pays off LOL.

Hi friend, let me make aware of you of something! Never in your journey through mylot, consider it as a money making opportunity since, definitely it is not! Mylot is totally a discussion forum kind of site with a wide scope for networking and making friends all the way. Also, it's a galore of information in here. Share any kind of dilemma that comes into your mind or anything that keeps confusing with your fellow mylotters, and you could find lots of interesting and valuable responses to your queries. However, getting paid for the amount of work you do is another thing. It always feels good when you get rewarded for the work you do. But, getting paid here is just some kind of a bonus. Basically, it's a discussion site and it stays that way all along.

Hi pringu! While I agree that it will not be possible to use myLot to pay the rent with the earnings, the earnings are absolutely worthwhile if you consider other aspects. For example, $10 goes much further is some parts of the world than in others. My own experience is that if we don't think about the earnings and just have fun while we are here and then, when we get paid, we just let them add up without using them, then it is absolutely worth it. $10 every month for a year adds up to $120 and over 4 years... well we can all work that out. If we earn more than $10 a month here it soon adds up to a little treasure if we just let it sit there. If we then compare what we gain for our time here on myLot with what we could receive for spending the same amount of time on sites such as Facebook...
