I'm thinking to purchase Samsung Galaxy S.
However I read from many sources that the battery don't last long at all. Is this true?
And I read an article that the way to save battery, is to switch from 3g to 2g. Does this mean that if I wanna surf internet I should change back to 3g? How if I surf in 2g? Does it make internet surfing slower?
Thanks.

the issue about battery life is not solely because of the model. The Android O/S is the culprit for the battery drain. Also, if you are using wifi your battery will also be drained faster.
