Do you believe that thinking about money all the time make you rich?

The law of attraction basically states that the more you think about something, regardless positively or negatively, the more you will fulfill it. For example, if you worry about debt all the time, you will attract more bills to come. Conversely, if you think about getting rich all the time, you will attract opportunities and luck to make more money. Do you believe in this concept? Do you believe that if you think about making money all the time, you can get rich?

This is all really so true. I may not be rich and maybe I haven't even thought that big because just keeping afloat is very important to me and to have a little extra in case one of my girls needed something would be great. I don't waste much energy worrying about my bills and rent etc. I focus on being able to put food on the table and pay all the important bills and provide the things we NEED. With that sort of thinking you do actually come up with ways to earn money. I make incense burners that I sell on the side and I'm on here. I may not make a lot all at once but I did make nearly 2000.00 on my burners last year. It came in a few dollars here and there but it put gas in my car and helped me provide for my daughter. Another thing I do is to save change in a big jug and keep track of it as it increases. Once it reaches a certain amount, you really just don't even want to touch it. You want to see it grow and grow. It's a good feeling to know that IF you needed, that money is there. My daughter and I also talk each other down from stupid purchases that we don't actually need. We try to spend as little as possible. We use coupons and search for deals. The worst thing someone can do is when they have say, 50.00 extra dollars...feel that they have some money they can finally blow. Guaranteed they will blow it on something they don't need.

Hi Gmkumar, I think the trick is to adjust your thinking from spending money to making money. If you keep thinking about spending money, like how nice to strike lottery and spend the money on a car, then you are not going to get rich. If you keep thinking about how to get rich, I think you would find ways to get rich, or become more attentive when others are sharing their experiences. I think many business persons are very alert to opportunities because they are thinking about making money all the time.

Hi Sid556, fortunately you train your girls to save money. I think even when they are older, and have the ability to make big money, they will not spend the money anyhow. The kind of thinking is there, and it becomes part of their personalities. It is similar to most accountants. While some accountants may mess up their personal lives, most of them think about saving cost for the company. They literally pick the managers to pieces for overspending. It is the way they are trained, and become the way they think. I think if we continually think about making money, saving money and investing, we will not waste time on spending money.

I don't think so, this won't make you rich instead this could trigger you to become insane! But I believe that, thinking about plans and courses of action to make money is a positive thinking that could eventually lead you to money making things.

Hi Whitewingspeak, I doubt thinking about making more money can make a person insane. Only those who keep thinking about debt will become insane. I think many rich people have the desires to make money long before they become rich. If they do not even think about money, they would not search for ways to make more money. In fact, the idea about thinking about money comes from The Secret. One of the chapter is about money.

Hi Yogeshmmm, we are on the same page. This topic comes because I have just finished reading The Secret. The chapter about Money really reaches me. I have never thought of seeing every bill as income. I think the suggestion in The Secret is very good. If we receive a $20 phone bill, we should add a zero behind, and view the bill as $200 check. We have to play pretend, and give thanks for receiving such a check.

We'll I would still say that it depends on how a person respond to the situation. If i will be thinking about money, it can give me more stress, maybe opposite of what you do. If it drives you to be rich, then well and good. But for me, i won't do that, it will give me a headache. I'd rather not think, but rather just work work work and if there is now the fruit of my hard labor, spend it the way I like it. That is just the way I am. We are different from one another, that is why we are called individuals. Thanks!

I don't think that just plain thinking will attract money to you. Now thinking of ways to earn and actually acting based on your thoughts will help you get rich more effectively. You have to come up with good ideas to earn money do something to get the money going.

Yes, I subscribe to this concept. The more you think and focus on a goal, the more is yur mind conditioned to think of ways on how to achieve this. But simply thinking about it and doing no action to accomplish won't get you anywhere. In my opinion, thinking about your goals regarding money is a nice start, but that shouldn't end there.

Hi AgentGulaman, yes, even the book, The Secret, says that more people are interested in getting sick than remain healthy. They keep on comparing their symptoms with other patients. They keep on thinking about their real or imagined sickness. if only they can think about fresh air, hiking and nature, they would feel happier and live life with purpose. i think it is time we think about gaining perfect health, getting rich and getting happier in whatever we do.

Hi AgentGulaman, if we just think about spending money, that is obviously the wrong way to get rich. If we think about how to get rich, then that desire and thought will lead us to more opportunities. I think that is the difference between the rich and the poor. The rich thinks about making deals, making money all the time. The poor thinks about spending money and debt all the time.

Yes! That is quite true! I also find that concept useful not just in money matters but also in life as general. It is like the power of positive thinking. The more you worry, the more things will get way out of hand. It is just a simple way of living and yet many others can't understand it.

No of course. If that's true then everyone should be rich by now. I requires thinking and action to make things happen. If you just think of money everyday would that make you rich? It takes more than just thinking to get rich. There should always be action and determination. That's the reason why we work to earn something.. You must make a goal everyday and fulfill it before the day ends and soon you'll just realize that your dreams are steadily coming true.

Hi Jacruz and Jules, most people do not think about making money, saving money or investing their money. If we examine our thoughts every day, we know that we are thinking about spending money most of the time. For example, if we feel hot and we see someone eating ice cream, the thought is whether we should buy ice cream or not, if yes, chocolate or strawberry. Then we see a TV commercial about a sales somewhere, and we might start to think and plan to spend money. It is very rare for a person to think about making money. Even when they keep hearing people saying about investing in gold or silver, and they read books, such as Rich Dad's series, mentioning about investment, they still do not spend enough time thinking about it. If a person spends more time to think about it, and the desire grows, he would take action to search for information, save money, and ultimately invest in something that will make him rich.

No...I don't believe that at all. I think about money all the time and while I still have a roof over my head and haven't gone hungry and my daughter is well dressed, I have to believe that comes from me setting priorities, working hard and budgeting really well. As time goes on and the economy keeps sliding down and prices go up and my income doesn't...you bet..I'm scared. I am barely putting food on the table but I am. I do all I can to lower my electric bill...turn off breakers for washer, dryer when not in use. breaker is turned off for the furnace, unplug appliances. I don't get all stressed out about it as it is what it is. I think about money and don't get rich so I have tao say that your theory probably is not true...just magical thinking.

Ok, I can see how this thinking might change a person's attitude and thinking so probably the way in which they handle the situation would change too...just a guess here. While I do get stressed about money and all...I just don't allow myself to stay in that mode because it just makes things worse. I do things other than my regular job to bring in some cash and I've always been that way. I know when my girls were small, things were scary tight and yet we got through it. What I noticed was that when I didn't panic and get all stressed was that my creativity flowed and i thought of ways to make money as well as cut corners and save. Money from unexpected place? Well, that has happened to me off and on in my life but probably happens to us all. Your theory is interesting for sure. What is the name of that book?

Hi Sid556, that book is The Secret, in book form. I think you might have watched it in the TV, but I happen to come across it in the library, next to one of Napoleon Hill's book. The part about thinking about money comes from it. It mentions that people get rich by thinking about making money all the time. When they are in the mindsets, they will assess every opportunity that comes by, with the goal of getting rich.

Hi Sid556, the fact that you are here means you are better than many of your colleagues who do not even want to try making money online. I think many people close their minds to alternative ways of earning. For them, the only way to make money is to work for other people. Most of them do not even want to try to bake things to sell. The Secret, a book about the law of attraction, mentions that thinking about making money is the first step to getting rich. It even shows how we can adjust our emotions to think about riches and not debt. One of the methods is to view every single bill as incoming check. This is a kind of play pretend game. Just pretend that every bill is a check of ten times the amount of money, and then act as if we are very happy to get it. According to The Secret, many TV viewers try this, and they have significant improvements in their lives. I have not tried this yet. I think I will give it a try, and see where the unexpected money comes from.

I don't believe in that. The result when you always think about money. You forget God and you can be a fanatic one about money and love money instead love yourself... Thinking about money is not good. Better to think about business than thinking about money. Because you can conceptualize a good business and be rich someday. If you think about money...you can't do something to improve your life. It will distract your mind and don't know really the best make a goal. Money is always there. No need to think about it...because as people thinking about money. They always ruin their lives. Because they are being greedy and arrogance. Because of money they change...they don't know what humbleness is all about. They don't know what exactly life is all about. They forget God, the most of everything. But they rely on money, money, money and money... Believed it or not. Those people having huge of money not having of peace of mind. They are always looking for something that is missing in their lives. That is why they are going to travel anywhere to find what is it...?

I know about that, friend. But Jesus did not teach us for think more about money. He only teach us to be wise in terms of that events. Because many people around the world today who think more about money and focus their minds about money. They forget God and never think that God first before money... Money is not good to think more. You can't be rich even if you have more money in your life. Because in the eyes of God...you will be poor. People maybe personally rich but spiritually poor...

Hi Aerous, thinking about money is not the same as loving money. It does not matter if the love of God and the desire to do right is there. Many poor people do not do the right things, and yet many rich people are very pious and good. Thinking about money can mean to reduce unnecessary spending, after all, you need to think hard before you spend a single cent. The problem with most people is that they do not think! They just buy, and then they regret once they get home. If they have thought hard about it, they might not just spend and spend and spend.

Hi Aerous, I think you need to read the Bible more to understand about responsibility and money. Remember how many times Jesus used to teach about the good servants and bad servants? The parables mention something like a man going away, and giving out some gold to his servants. The first two servants doubled their money, and the third one just buried the money in the ground. Then Jesus said that the first two are good servants, because they helped their master to make more money. That is their responsibility. They do it with the right mindset. They have to think about making money in order to grab hold of business opportunities. It is the same today. If you can think about saving money, investing your asset, and making more money, you would have less time to spend money. Once you are better off, you have more time for your family and church activities. It is impossible to focus on helping others when you have more debts to pay. People do not forget God when they focus on making money. They only forget God when they love material things so much that they cannot part with these. Even poor people can love money and material things that they forget about their families and God. You can see many real life examples. You can see how many poor people love to drink and gamble away their hard earned money. Yet you can see how many rich people donating their assets to help the poor people. It is all a matter of what you do with what you have.

Hi Missyphoebe, I think you misinterpret the part about thinking about money. Thinking about getting rich is not the same as daydreaming. Most people think about spending money, and that is why they interpret about getting rich is about spending money. But thinking about making money is an entirely different matter. You have to think of ways to increase income, then think about ways to hold on to your money, and ways to increase your money. If you can think about making money all the time, you would have looked for many opportunities to get rich.

Hi Frontvisions, planning involves thinking too. If we never think of all possible scenarios, how are we to plan for the worst possible to happen? The fact is that most people do not like to think. If they had thought enough, they would never spend so much money to get themselves into debt. Many people do not even want to think about how to survive if they lose their jobs, that is why so many foreclosures happen. Thinking about money involves more than just planning to get more. It involves protecting our assets, and different ways of investment to gain more from our current cash holding.

Hi Moneywinner, most of us do not spend enough time thinking about how to make money or how to invest to get rich. Most people just go to work every day, and rely on their pay check for survival. Only when they lose their jobs, then they start to think about making money. That is why we hear more stories about people who get rich after losing their jobs. if they still have the job until their retirement, they would never dare to start a business or think about other means to get rich. I think we should spend more time thinking about making money, rather than thinking about spending money.

Hi Teresh, if we do not even think about making money, there is no way we can get rich. There are many people who think wrongly. Instead of thinking about how to earn a million dollars or how to invest to get rich, they think about how to steal money or how to steal time from their bosses. In the end, they get what they want. Their bosses will sack them for being lazy, and not around when there is work to be done.

Hi Dodo19, thinking about money is more than just wishing for money. You have to think about how to save money, where to put your saving, to buy or not to buy certain things. Imagine you go for lunch, and you have a few choices. You can eat at the cheap eatery and save your money, or you can eat at the fast food restaurant where the atmosphere is better. Which will you choose? It is more than just food, because it involves money. That is why it means by thinking about money.

I certainly believe in the theory of law of attraction. The more you think about something, the chances of achieving it increase. For instance, if you manage to stay positive all the time, positive results will start to reflect in your work efforts. Therefore, if you start to think about getting rich all the time, there is every possibility of you becoming very rich one day. This is because when you put in all your focus and attention on one thing, new concepts and ideas related to that concern or subject automatically starts to come in your head. And your chances of becoming rich increases every day. So, if we make it a habit to think about our priorities in life all the time, we have every chance of finding a solution or a way to achieve them.
@scheng1 (24649)

Hi Saurav, new concepts and new ideas may not come automatically. Most of the times, the new ideas come from unexpected sources. For example, when we have the desire to get rich, and we keep thinking about how to get rich, we would read books and search online. Sometimes, a sentence here and there appeals to us, and answers part of the question that we have. When we have different sources, we can combine the wisdom, and come out with our own strategy. I think all of us have different talents and interests. We cannot use the same method to get rich. We have to find one method that applies to us, and then we keep thinking about ways to improve it.

I think that this law usually works in the negative way,for example when you're afraid of getting ill and can't stop thinking about it you will eventually get a sickness.I suppose this might also work in a positive way for some people at least up to a point;if the thought of money becomes embedded in the person's mind all the time it turns into an obsession, and I think the lust for money does a lot of harm to other people and eventually that obsession will lead that person to disaster.

Hi Polaris, I think if we are honest with ourselves, we know that we think about spending money so many times a day, and hardly about making extra money in a single month. For example, we might be thinking about lunch, whether to eat out or to eat in, and we start to think about the cost of both options. We might be thinking about getting a new cellphone in the next minute. It is so rarely that we think about making money, especially when we still have a regular job.

If a person thinks all the time about spending money, and dealing with all the debt incurred from spending, then that is very stressful. if we think about making more money by saving or investing, that is not stressful at all. Hi Ckciasigurl, actually thinking about making money is not stressful. The stressful part is worrying about bills and debts. If a person has a few credit cards, and each card is maxed with high interest imposed on the debt, then that is very stressful. if we think about making money, including how to invest for more money, how to save so that we have more money, then that is not stressful. I think the problem with people is that they never think before they spend money. If they had, they would not end up with more debt than cash in the bank.
