Dinner party great success!

So some of you may remember that I posted a couple of days ago about the starters I was making for a dinner party. Well, the food and the whole dinner party was a great success!! I ended up making butternut and ricotta gnocchi with a sage butter sauce - have never made gnocchi from scratch before so it could have been a disaster but ended up working out so well! For mains we had beef wellington, and dessert was pear and apple tarte tatin - absolutely delicious! Have attached a pic of us all enjoying the meal and some wine.

The beef wellington was delicious - I didn't make that dish, it was my room mate who made it and it seems like it is a very technically difficult dish to make! But she managed to get it done perfectly.. Glad that I had the slightly easier part!

So true - I was worried that the cooking was going to be a failure but it turns out that as great as the food was, that wasn't even the best part of the evening - it was more about the company. So I definitely feel better prepared now for the next time around!

Haven't made any plans for another one just yet.. But after I posted these pics on facebook I had a flurry of requests for invitations to the next one! So I guess it will have to be sometime soon :)
