selling your stuff to make money

Have you tried selling your old items to make some money? Have you sold old novels or "vintage clothes" on ebay? Have you had a garage sale to sell old items, sold anything at an antique auction? Or just sold things at the markets or a car boot sale? How did it go?

I'm more of a buyer than a seller. I have an ebay and paypal account mainly used for buying stuff online. Most of my unwanted items are either handed down to relatives or donated to charities. There is only one item I have sold at ebay, which is my Samsung Omnia II 16gb phone. It was good as new. I seldom use it because I have two phones. I tried selling it at ebay and was glad someone bought it right away an hour after posting my item. Probably because I sold it at a very low price. I just want to get rid of it so that I could buy a new phone. It was fun selling but I don't think I'll do it often. I love being the buyer.

I have bought lots of things on ebay and never sold, but I am keen to sell some old clothes as vintage clothes are meant to be fairly hot in australia. I also want to sell a lot of my old paperback novels because my flat is small and we are running out of space - am tossing up whether to sell them on ebay, a car boot sale, or we have a free day in our paper called "sell it Monday", so I have also thought about selling books in there.

I have bought on e-bay but to sell on there is to expensive with their costs I sell and buy more on BidorBuy as there is no fees if an item does not sell

Actually I don't just re-sell old items but also those items I bought out of impulse only to find later that I could not be comfortable wearing them. Like high-heeled shoes that I bought not knowing they are too high for me or color that can't match any of my clothing. It is a good thing that me and my friends hold regular garage sale where we sell just about anything we don't need, or do not use anymore. It has good results.
