If you are a soft hearted person than i urge you not to watch news really it will affect you very badly i never saw a news without having crime content, the main reason of having such crime everyday is our miserable/wretched/rubbish law/constitution because this sucki*ng law of our constitution which doesn't have a strict punishment against the culprit and the person doesn't get scare of doing any miserable things. Look the country like saudi arabia, china etc. and the law in this country have very strict one and the crime is very low compare to our country(India). All the culprit gets the bail after doing any nuisance thing and roam freely outside and do the another nasty things i really feel ashamed of seeing our law.
Hey friend what you think about it?

The two countries you mention, Saudi Arabia & China are both completely different from India. These are more of dictatorship govts where the law is more misused by the few people who are forever in power, than it benefits the common people. The main problem that I see with Indian laws is that it is completely outdated! Most are British era laws which have lot of loopholes in them coz they are not suited to the technology, mentality, lifestyle, aspirations of the people as of now. However, nobody wants to tamper with the basic infrastructure of our laws or introduce path-breaking amendments, coz it involves a mammoth task and no govt was ever interested in giving something unique to us (all govts have just carried on and borrowed from the British), making the laws more pertinent to today’s age would have harmed the vested interests of many influential people, archaic laws are the best excuses to passing on the buck (something India is famous for…see the govt. sector)
And then India is a democracy! We have to keep so much in mind, specially the fundamental rights of the citizens! Anything the govt wants to do, has to be a consensus one, can never be a unilateral decision. However, one thing that really irks me is the bail condition (just like you mentioned)…our law is based on the concept of ‘innocent until proven guilty’…so naturally the offenders apply for bail and the court has to give them back their freedom until and unless their crime is proven (which seldom happens). But then if we take out the bail part, then in a country like India where inequality is widespread, so many innocents would be arrested on fabricated charges and put behind bars for life!

Sudipta. The laws are ancient, and India is democratic. Both are not reasons for the crime rate. There are other countries following democracy. The laws too are almost similar as regards to fundamental rights. What is lacking is since Independence the people of the country learnt to exploit the situation with the support of politicians, and the clout of politicians and criminals for seizing the power and making others join the band wagon whom we call vested interests. There is now no real common man except the ones who continue to bear the brunt of the criminal world all around and rest all join in the crimes that take place all around one way or the other. The Law & Order system is reduced to be only an onlooker and the politician, criminal clout rules the system. There can be no punishments to the real culprits. So the crime perpetuates. IF THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY. Indians should bring a revolt which is highly improbable now as they are all in shredded fragments of religion, castes, tribes, regions and so on. Thanks to the self rule.

hi, siliguri, i understand what you feel though i'm from but china is not like you think. in china, corruption is very serious in communist party which i'm very angry with it. law cann't punish those governors who have complicated relationship among them. when watching tv, i will see the mine disaster train malpractice and corrution shown by media. the question is we cann't change anything because we are just normal peope, just be ourself is the only thing we can do.

Well siliguri...
exactly i have some complains to our constitution and laws because its infected by some unnecessary slogans and its really hampering on the development of our India. You know we were and still suffering from insurgents called a group as ULFA. Months ago, most of them wished to negotiate their issue with government and the government welcomed them like kings..... the even forgot that these persons had killed many innocent people on last three or four decades. Again KASAB is a great instance of it.

hi,
actually crime is anywhere, even here in my country there are many crime here,i think crime is rising because to the government,on how they handle this and how they govern they people, now a days crime is arising not because of poverty but also due to love and relationship.if the law will be strict maybe people will afraid to do crimes.

One reason for less crimes if it so, in China and Saudi Arabia is strict implementation of law and rules. In India people are more considerate and person get out of jail after paying some bail amount and legal system is very slow. We have lakhs of cases pending in different courts. So people who are capable of doing wrong things can go scot free.
More courts should be opened. More judges appointed. More police to be appointed. Strict punishment/immediate punishment to be given without political interference.

Hi Siliguri,
This is absolute shame to everybody living in the country( I am very sorry to say this, I am a citizen of the same country and I am forced to say this only because of our so called great leaders who are leading the country in the path of corruption very successfully). We come across many crimes that are being done in every corner of the state, real shame.
The leaders are here only to protect their power and seat. Most of them are corrupted and we hardly find genuine leaders who strive to work in a proper way to make bright India. The crimes committed are easily forgiven by the top authorities for some reasons and the criminals are back in the society and do their business.
This should not be the scenario, the system has to be changed, there should be some ignition where the system changes and all the laws are adhered under any given circumstances. I do not want the country to be ruled under Prime Minister, their should be a presidential rule which I think runs well with slow crime rate and people lead a happy life.
Cheers Lotters!

Yes in our country India there is much crime. And I don’t know what the reason behind it is. But I want to say for it also all of us responsible. Because we fear from those peoples who try to give pain us. And this is the point when their will power increase for make fear between peoples. And also our government responsible for this. Because they make those peoples leaders who are very corrupted. I think nobody safe in our country.
