I can't believe I am a writer now. I never write. I don't have a diary. I don't write a lot about my feelings, life, problems and everything in a paper, a notebook, a diary. Now, tons of thoughts are creeping on my mind waiting to be jot down in prints. Who is a writer here? To be a writer is pretty hard, huh?. You need to experience a lot of things so that you have so many things to write. You need to be emotional and observant. You need to organize your thoughts well and think of a good topic to write. But I am happy of what I am writing now. Everybody can write. Everybody can be a writer.

i agree with some of the responses here. We can all be writers. But like you, at first I cannot believe that I am a writer too. I write product reviews for a review site and at first I just cannot believe that I am writer already. Sure, I used to write diaries, journals, and short stories when I was a kid but when it was my first time to actually EARN from what I write, I just couldn't believe it. I'm so happy for you. We can be whatever we want and what we think we could be. Enjoy writing and have a nice day!

I believe we can all write. As long as we are creative we can expand our words to create a nice piece of writing for the reading pleasure of others. Mylot has provided a training platform for many of us which have unearthed our writing potential and we should make use of it to write more as this is the only way to improve future.

That's true. I've always written, ever since I was about 17 i think, and I completed a few things, poems, "novels", short stories etc., but I ended up destroying most of it. That is, until 2006, when i began writing seriously for the first time on the internet, via a blog. And things just grew from there. I've made money from writing. And have developed as a writer; mind you...I've a long, long way to go yet! http://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/carlhalling

That is true. Thanks to the internet, everyone has the opportunity to develop as a writer, and have their writings published for many to read them. It's a tremendously exciting development. I've always wanted to write; ever since I was a teenager. But it was only a few years ago, my writing life was hellish. Back in the late '90s it was. I'd sometimes bash away at a broken down noisy typewriter (my poor upstairs neighbours; so patient) throughout the might, determined to finish something; and only get a few hours sleep, because I couldn't save my work. I'd smother my writing in sticky copy fluid. All too often after working like stink to finish a "novel", I'd end up tossing it away. Right there in the street. I'd just dump it in the trash. The waste of it all. The internet has revolutionised my writing life! http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/80209

I have loved to write all my life but due to life circumstances did not always find the time. I am now writing more and I love every minute of it. Writing is a great way to express your creative side. As we go through life we are taught to become less and less creative and to follow directions given to us by everyone around us. I am happy to see that you are writing more and that you enjoy it. It is something we should all do to hold on to our creativity is write and express ourselves for who we are and how we feel.

Hi tess, Many a time we do not realize the potential in us and since there is no exposure to them finally. So you discovered that you could write, I mean write quality things. This is great. Sometime we get to know from our friends or colleagues. The joy of being a writer is something that you can not compare with. Congratulation.

I have been utilizing my time lately jotting down thoughts, and whatever comes to my mind. It helps me stay sane through crazy times as I have found out. This is my second avenue of writing. My first avenue of writing has been writing a novel. I am not a professional writer, and to be honest, I have no idea where the idea of my story has came from, but it spawned from one story to a three part saga so far. I don't think I went into this with an organized plan because of the many revisions. I nearly finished part 2 of 3, haven't started 3 of 3, but 1 of 3 had a massive rebuild (a change of direction). I have figured out how to tighten up on this craft of mine, since I had no real training (or idea). I even helped a relative with an idea for a story for their creative writing class, cooking up a plot that blew everyone in the class away. Not betting on it, but I will be more than happy if this hobby turns into J K Rowling success.

I think that each and every one of us that posts our thoughts and feelings onto mylot can classify ourselves as writers. :) Writing is about putting your feelings down in words, or creating something completely new and unique. Which is what we all do each time we log on to mylot and participate!

I agree... All of us can be writers. I am a writer since I was in grade school. It wasnt easy sometimes to come up with something to write. But if you write abou something you love or enjoy, then it just becomes easy. Keep writing.

Nice thoughts! Everybody can be writer. writing is a art where the person arranges his thoughts in a understandable manner and shares with others. Writing helps you to analyse yourself and others. See the world from a different perspective. and enjoy life better

Agreed, everyone can be a writer! That is the most exciting part about the field is that anyone can do it. Sure, everyone does it to different degrees, but just putting your thoughts onto paper makes you a writer. The Internet has really leveled the playing field in that regard as well. Happy writing!
