Excess weight and foot problems go together. When feet are called on to carry a heavy burden of weight, those calluses and bunion starts radiating the discomfort. The delicate bone structure of our feet may realign under the added pressure, and knee pain can result. So can leg cramps, low back pain, corns, heel spurs, bursitis, and arthritis.

Yes we should really be kind to our feet. After all without our feet then we can no longer stand, we can no longer walk and we can no longer go anywhere. Feet are very valuable so we have to value them. Let's take care of them and don't ever, ever abuse them. One way of abusing our feet is wearing badly fitted shoes or very high heels. Our feet will never, ever, like to be tortured so let's wear comfortable footwear and avoid wearing high heels for long period of time.

It is really sad that I am such a person who loves fashion and shoes with very high heels. But many high heeled shoes are not comfortable except perhaps for the very good brands. But even if it is comfortable and have a good brand they still can hurt not only our feet but our back. So I only wear them occasionally and on special occasions.

i think being kind to our feet is a very good idea, as if we aren't we become less and less mobile, as they are an essential part of being able to get around.
i hadn't really connected having too much weight with causing problems with feet, though it makes sense, and useful to be reminded that that can create problems.
i remember when i was young being warned by my mother that you have to be careful about shoes.
its good to read something reminding us how important they are.

Hi the!
You are right that feet are very important organs of our body and we should take utmost care of our feet. Excess weight can cause problems in walking and running and can put pressure on our feet.

You can say that again. Around 5 years ago, i had bilateral bunion removal. I am not sure though if bunions do run in the family but my weight is pulling the bunions in crazy angles already such that i had to have operated on.
The heavy rains here made me sleep a lot late such that i dont get to exercise anymore, thanks for reminding!

That's right. We really need to maintain an ideal weight if we want to be healthy.Obesity does not only causes problems to our feet,it predisposes us to many diseases like diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular problems, stroke, and the likes. We should control our weight through balance diet, and being active;so we can prevent health problems in the future.
