Cloud Crowd is a legit site which pays for work. However, it's not that simple. Some tasks require a certain amount of points. Those points are earned. How this works is that you select a task without points. If you successfully do the task and it is accepted, you get paid and you get points. Payment goes through Paypal (just like Mylot) but it generally takes about two or three days.If your work is rejected, you do not get paid for it, and you do not get the points. The higher the points you earn, the higher the pay you can earn. What this means is that there are some tasks worth only about $2.00. Other tasks are worth about $5.00.
I won't lie to you. It's not an easy job, because your tasks are reviewed by other Cloud Crowd workers. Some may approve your work, but there will be many that reject it because of errors they spot. However, Cloud Crowd proves tutorials and forums where you can study how to do the tasks and where you can meet Cloud Crowd workers.
If a person becomes proficient at the tasks on Cloud Crowd, they could possibly turn it into a part time or full time job. I think some already have.
Does this help?

I'd like to add one more thing, it is well said that getting work is hard on cloud crowd for the beginners, because it is rare to find some work eligible for 30 points holders. Initially a new workers gets 30 points in cloud crowd. One has to wait many days to increase his/her point.

CloudCrowd is just an Mturk copycat which gives you a lousy pay for the hard work that you do. It's a virtual online sweatshop. The workers there are not screened. So there is a high probability that your work there is reviewed by some troll who just rejects your job for no reason. Before you know it you'll be kicked out of the system because your credibility level got down below 20.
