What do people think of the Tea Party?

Personally I think the Tea Party members are crazy and only got elected by playing off the fears of the people. Since taking office they haven't done anything but make the financial future of the country worse. Think about it, the Tea Party was all for cutting taxes, yet they use the debt ceiling as a way to try and bring about change? All they did was cause the United States to almost default on its debt and damage its credit rating. How does that help the country? Also if Michelle Bachmann becomes president I will certainly be moving to Canada.

If it hadn't been for the tea party Obama wold have had a blank check. And the Government would keep getting bigger. It's too big now. It wasn't the tea party that damaged the credit but the lack of any budget for over 800 days. The tea party is for the middle class and The tea party only had 6 months to do any thing..

I love how people just jump on the "Obama would have had a blank check" bandwagon. Governments have to spend in recessions in order for the economy to get back on track. It happens and has happened in the past. If Republicans, and especially Tea Party Republicans, would work with the Democrats we could get something done. However, the Tea Party is more interested in just blocking the President even when he is doing what is right for the country.

Well 200 billion to Brazil to drill oil for us to buy and 500 billion to South America to me is a blank check. That 200 billion would help us out a lot. What has he done write for our country? Government doesn't provide jobs unless it's like it provide during the depression with the CCC.

I'm hoping there's enough people who think the same of them as you and I do for them to be taken right out of office as quickly as they were put IN! In my opinion, they've certainly done nothing positive for our country or made a single move to solve any of our problems. They're obstructionists who have no clue how government is supposed to work. Heck, some of them aren't aware our federal taxes are at the lowest level in decades or that Medicare is actually government run health care! Annie

I think all extremes are bad. With all due respect, I also think you don't have enough information to make these sweeping generalizations.
