Im married and very happy with my life right now. But there are days when I really can't help but miss my mom and dad. After I got married, I have to leave them and live in a different country with my husband. My husband have a wonderful family too and I don't feel like a stranger when I am with them. But nobody can replace our mom and dad. When I see mom and daughters shopping at the mall, I envy them. I wish I also have my mom to go out with sometimes when I want. I feel like I spent so little time with them. It was like yesterday when I use to wait for the weekends to go out on our family day... and now... I'm here, far from them.
To those who live with their parents, to those who are still single and have their parents with them everyday, to those who got married but their parents are just a few kilometers away... You are lucky. Don't waste your time, spend your time with your parents when you want. Love them and hug them when you have a chance. Sometimes we neglect them, sometimes they maybe too strict and we wish to be set free... but then at the end of the road, when we are really set free and live far from them, it'll break our hearts.
It's not easy living far from my parents, I don't have any siblings so they live alone without anybody there. I know it's even more difficult for them to see me go. I am happy with my life right now... but still I miss them so much.

I missed my late father so much. He passed away on my third month of marriage. It was so sad but I manage to move on. I was really close to him. I still can see him sitting on his red lawn chair waiting for me to come back from work. Every pay day I will bring him to town to treat him to a nice meal. Whenever its festive season I would bought him clothes and he would wore it proudly. When doing this I remembered that it has been awhile since I went to visit his grave. May God bless his soul.

I never imagine my life with my parents living in another country. I think that I could not do that, I life alone because of my studies and my parents live around 4 or 5 hours by bus. They come visit me every 2 weeks and I already miss them, imagine to see them only one or two times per year. And, I think that when we are younger, we don't appreciate them enough, I remember that I didn't, now I know how important they are to me.

I am a girl who is waiting for the marriage next year and I will be engaged in this October. I can feel u deeply inside 'coz I am a home-missing girl as well, and I'afraid of being apart with them next year though we r still in a same city. U r definitely right, no one can replace our own mom and dad though ur mother-in-law and father-in-law are kind to u as well. I deeply feel that I lost my ability to communicate with them since I got my boyfriend and spent little time with them. After reading ur words today, I will keep on loving them from now on, even when I get married. Thank u for ur words!

i am a lucky doy who still stay single and live with my parents.Maybe because i have not suffer the misery of detaching,i can't realize the procious of living with them.on vocation ,i like to chat or laugh with them.at the rest of the time,i have to live in the school.,so i can't go home everyday due to the long distance between my school and my home.but i insist to go home once a month, that is my principle.when i went home, they pretend to complain about that i am not a independant girl.however ,i don't matter that.i can feeling that when i went home staying two or three days, they are both very happy.
I wanna say i love you very much-my parents.

I have to move away from home since I was in high school for education and now that I'm married, I live far away from my mom and dad. I do miss them a lot, even if they visit once or twice a year, it's really not the same as spending time with them everyday. Those who live close to their parent's house are really lucky.

My parents are in their 70's and my siblings and I are in our 40's. My parents decided to have just the kids over for a family discussion about how to handle their business after mom and dad are gone. Obviously this is not the discussion everyone looks forward to. The best thing about it was that we as the family of kids and mom and dad have not been together like this in many years. There were no spouses or any of our kids at this get together. Mom and dad shared some really neat stories about the family and what is was like growing up. They told us how we were all very blessed and have all lived a very good life together. That was really cool to be with mom and dad to share this moment.

Nearly teary-eyed reading this pbbbsra...I miss my parents too. Miss them more while reading your discussion. Yeah, got the same feelings as yours. I am living miles away from my mom and dad also after getting married and finally settled here with my hubby and kids. It's not easy living far from them. No one can ever replace my mom and dad in my heart. Eventhough I am far away from them, I always think of them every now and then especially now that they are old already. I always pray to God to protect and give good health to my mom and dad since I'm far away from them and could not give my tender loving care when they badly need it.

What a moving story! You have really got a good husband and parents in law. I'm happy about that. I'm also a little bit far away from my parents. I go home to visit them in summer and winter vocations.
