I'm here in KSA, and here pork is not available and prohibited to eat. I'm already more than 1 month here working as nurse. All the foods in the philippines, specially the ones that was cooked by my mom, I really, really missed to eat filipino foods. How about you what food do you missed eating?

so there's no pork at all in KSA? its like in qatar... hmmm but in Qatar they said there is pork but you can only buy it in American Base and it cost like 100riyals just for 1 kilo.. so Filipinos there would rather not buy pork... haha not unless they are rich i guess and really craves for pork
Anyways i am also filipino and i am here in Dubai, but pork here they sell it to most groceries. There are lots of filipino stores here also so you won't miss some filipino product foods. lost of filipino restaurants also. i always miss eating palabok and good many Fil resto here they served palabok
what amaze me also is that there are some restaurants here which serves pork.
what i miss eating are some of the restaurant foods in philippines, like jollibee, gerrys grill and max's... ohhh im starting to feel hungry.. haha.. i miss goldilocks and red ribbon too

reading your discussion reminded me the months i was at Japan to work. i miss my wife's cooking, and since we are all guys we almost eat the food that are ready to eat. we buy food from 711 or any convenient store and heat it on microwaves. but sometimes there are lucky days where some people treats us out on a great restaurant. me and my band will be coming back at Japan this october again and wife has slowly taught me how to cook simple recipe so i can cook than always buying the ready made food.

So you finally made it to KSA! Good for you.
A lot of people tend to miss the food they grew up with when they work in other countries. For me, it's just the desserts from local bakeries that were available in my hometown.
I'm sure you'll get used to it, not eating pork.

I have been working in the gulf since 2002 but in the countries I worked, pork is available at some stores who were licensed to sell the same. But I don't miss pork at all, I know the bad things that pork brings into my body so I'd rather stay away from it. If I miss any kind of food and if it is Filipino food, I cook it myself. Actually I don't go to Filipino restaurants as I prefer my own cooking. What I miss eating here in the gulf is Mexican food as Mexican restaurants is very seldom and if there's one it is expensive, in the sense that you can not go there frequently. I also miss German sausages and Hungarian Goulash. hmmmm yummy!

I miss eating lots of foods. I was diagnosed with diabetes about 15 years ago and from that point on I could no longer eat certain foods. I cannot eat bread, pasta, cake, cookies, candy and when it comes to vegetables, I cannot eat peas and corn. I also cannot eat fruit. So, for me, it has been very hard.

I am missing eating those Mexican cuisines, and I also missing eating some of those Colombian cuisines from that restaurant that is located in Buford Highway, me and my friend once ate there. They got some great food, and they are the authentic Colombian food. Anyway, I tried to contact my friend, we should get together once again, and we should try those food once more.
