Do you get mad when your patience runs out?

It has been 20, 30, minutes, almost an hour that you are waiting impatiently for friends to hang out. Then they appear smiling at you saying that they are late because there is too much traffic. Where I have been has too much traffic too and knowing that for my many years of existence in this traffic-filled world taught me to leave earlier so I don't keep anyone waiting. I just don't find it as a valid excuse. Sometimes I would just leave because I really get mad and leaving is the only way I can pacify my anger. What about you? I can remember I had to wait for an hour more because what I am going to was so important.

Hi thetis! It would just have been okay for me to wait long as long as they inform me ahead that they won't be able to come on time. But if there wasn't any communication, and you're all trying to contact them but with no response then that would make me mad. I know how it feels to wait very long so as much as possible I'll come on time or inform them ahead my whereabouts so that they will know. I usually just leave also so that they'll realize that they've been waited for very long.

Well that was really irritating. I also have that before telling you that they're on the way but the truth is they're not. They only stopped doing that when I try to talk to them about that matter. I told them that I couldn't take forever. I have also observed before why some of our friends do this is that even though they try to tell us the truth, we still get mad at them. That way, they become hesitant to tell us because I admit I was like that kind of person before. Not until I stopped getting mad that they became honest with me.

Yes that is okay. But the problem with my experience when they showed up after an hour even if they texted was that they have said after they were late for a few minutes was that they were on the way. And I am familiar with the route and there was not traffic at hours after lunch. So I suspected that they were just lying because I know that even if there was traffic an hour more was still too long and it wasn't that far at all whence they came. It would have been better if they said that there are things to do in the house first and we will be late. There are just people who makes other feel like a fool for no good reason. I don't know why some are like that. I could have needed honesty at times like that. Then at least I can keep my cool Thanks.

I would not get mad even if my patience run out once after my friend told me that he can't meet me up at the exact time due to the traffic problem he faced. It is no doubt traffic can be hard to beat if you drive in a certain time during the day or you are unfortunately caught up in a really bad accident in the highway. I will wait patiently for him and enjoy our meeting as usual. I am sure my friend can't arrive at the exact time is by no means his fault except event out of his control. All my friends are cool people.

It is good to have friends like that. There are just some people who take some things like these for granted assuming that you are okay with it and not even conscientious even if they are aware they could have prevented to keep you waiting.

I don't like to keep people waiting and if I know that there is going to a lot of traffic I always leave earlier. I live on an island and my island is connected to the neighbour islands by bridges. At the moment they are repairing one of the bridges and we have to wait in line almost every time we want to cross the bridge. If I am going to meet someone on main island I leave about half an hour earlier to get there on time. I get annoyed if people leave me waiting for a long time. My ex-boyfriend always showed up late and I found very annoying to wait for him every time.

That is always a good thing to do. And I can't understand why can't other people do that. I wonder if it is okay with if they are kept waiting for long because they don't realize how maddening it is to wait when time is all important.

I really lose my patience when i am made to wait for a long time. I would still wait until my friend arrives, but for sure i would really lambast her for making me wait a long time. It's up to her to appease me, but i will not hide my anger.

Well, i do that to my friends only. They know my attitude so they will own up to their mistakes. But to other people, i don't do that, and like you, i will show my anger through my facial expression and not talking at all.

I can never hide my anger when it comes to these things too. Sometimes I wish I am like you who can lambast people who keeps me waiting..But I just can't. But at least my face can tell them how bad it is for them to keep me waiting.

It is very irritating to wait for someone so long.Well,in my case I will have an sudden outbrust of my anger.I will also asked the same question to my friends that why they have not started earlier?I am too much emotional.Sometimes I get mad when my patience runs out and I simply started crying for long hours. And after long hours of crying I get very tired and I simply went to sleep.

That makes the two of us. When I am waiting somewhere in the public I keep holding my tears because my anger want me to burst out to tears. And that is the point when I just leave and go home. When anyone is late for more than 30 minutes I tell myself that I could have done better things to do at home and should come late as well. But still, we are not like them. I wonder if people also do that to them and maybe it makes them feel happy to kept waiting.

that is really irritating. But what can we do? Life is full of unexpected and unhappy things. So, in that case, i just enjoy myself like eating or playing music while waiting. Or the put tag on that friend of yours and the next time your hanging out arrive on what you think your friend will arrive so that you do not have to wait for them.

That is good for you. At least you wont have to be mad. I wish I could be like that too sometimes, but I just can't. I have a temper for these things that I just can't control.

Sometimes I say to myself that I will be patient i will wait and wait and I will not get mad, but in the end i always start flaming and go crazy. I am pretty impatient and I am working on changing myself, but i guess sometimes you can't change something in a man.

Yes i get very mad. My ex boyfriend was always late. I got so fed up I broke up with him after several times getting late. It is more hurting when people are late than breaking up with them. It just makes me so mad. This is just meeee. At least now my boyfriend is always early. I am the only sometimes late but only for few minutes. He don't get mad with me at least being few minutes late.

Good for them. I might also do the same thing because that can possibly also get me fed up of them in the long run.
