No, do not retaliate. Simply report the offending comment and ignore it until I remove it and deal with the responsible party. Retaliation will only put you in the same position as the original offender and could lead to infractions against you as well. Simply report and ignore.

Personally it can be quite frustrating when you have people that always seem to be doubting you and say things that are rude and uncalled for. Here and on myLot or other sites online it can be quite hard and it makes you really wonder about the person saying those type of things themselves. Have they ever really stopped to think about things, and thought about what if it was them instead?

There were actually members here who cannot understand what an opinion is because they see them in your posts playing smart, telling that I'm wrong and they are right. Well, it's an opinion and if they are really smart then they must be able to understand that. Usually I just try to avoid them because I think it would be better to avoid than to engage with them. I'm not also whining because it's the truth. I'm just relieved a bit because there were only a few of them here. Just don't be distracted with them. We must all be able to enjoy myLot. I can sympathize with you. I have been there also. It is true that if they have got nothing good to say they just need to keep quiet. You are right that some are trying to be really good and the laugh at your discussions with sarcasm like they know better thinking that they are really smart when they are not. Well whatever I have experienced I have earned and learned them especially from books and if they think they are better they should perhaps make a book on their own to counter that. But at least I am glad that out of a bunch, there only one rotten apple. And that one rotten apple should realize how bad they are knowing they are alone in their views. It was not easy for me too. I am pregnant and bedresting and I am glad to be doing this because at least I have something better done than lying down. It's not very easy lying on ones side and typing with one hand while resting my head on my left arm. Then you try to share something and here comes one person acting like she is better than the rest trying to make their opinion different. I am sorry it ever happened to you too. But we are here to support you and happy that there are by far more good people here than the bad ones.

yes there are few rude people here on mylot, i feel bad also if they comment on my discussion, but i guess that's their nature and we cant do anything about that anymore, just ignore them, that's what i do. happy mylotting then:)

It is really a sad fact that there are people who doesn't use their gift of speech in a responsible way as if their derogatory and hateful remarks would help someone in a difficult situation. We can't change this situation. The most we can do positively is by not letting it affect our thinking and action. These negative and unkind remarks can and will affect us only if we let it. There are always going to be those who make rude comments here. I hate that they do, I don't think it's called for. I feel like if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all should ring true even here. Use the [!] button if need be on these people.

Unfortuately penny4urThoughts there are people that will always have something stupid to say. I just ignore them and don't give them the satisfaction of seeing that it bothers me. But there are many more good people that have very good comments. So like I said just ignore them and give value to the good people with good comments and good conversation. They are not worth your time.

Hello there! Welcome to mylot. I see that you are quite new here. I am sad when there are rude comments even it is not for me. I have red to some discussions that there are some rude comments. :( I hope that these rude people will not comment if they have nothing good to say. I am always here in mylot basically not for money too. I get to read and receive many inspiring words that I really need especially now that I am depress. These rude people may not know, but it is an outlet. Outlet to share thoughts and feelings that I can't share with friends. I consider mylot and some friends here my friend now.

I know exactly what you mean and it is not only un-nerving it is rude and makes the me feel like poo. That is the best discription I can give. I get them and then I report them if they are rude. They don't belong here since they can not follow the rules and who in this time of hardship need more when we are here on Mylot to find friends of commone intrest and a little compassion. I will never understand why these people like to hurt others and make us doubt why we are even here on Mylot. I mean I almost deletede mine due to some very rude and hurtfull words. AND I do not apreciate just like you, when I get a private message from them saying to grow up or what not. THEY obviosly don't suffer from any hardship for if they did they would understand.
