Hi flowerfest!
That is a good motivation of yours to boost your self-esteem. Yes it's true that it doesn't happen overnight and it takes a lot to do it. You must never give up to show them what you're really capable of. Try to engage in more activities whether in school, community or church. Find your strengths and use that to overcome your weaknesses. Always give your best shot so that you won't have any regrets. You have to level up your confidence and one way is by having achievements and accomplishments. You have to boost your morale, and one best way is by loving yourself and accepting for who you truly are. You must be able to show them your true self without holding back. Don't let others put you down because of you who you are. Just always put in mind that you are a blessing and never a mistake.

yes I try to be more positive, but just sometimes its disappointing that instead of supporting me they try to discourage me, but it's alright because I take it as a challenge and I know that time will come that they will also believe on what I am capable of.thank you for your nice comment.

Yes that is the challenging part if you can still stay positive despite of disappointments. Just don't listen much about what they say but believe that you can do it. It starts with believing then doing it. You will never be able to do it if you don't believe in yourself. And I believe that you'll be able to get over it.

I try not to think of it as self-esteem--instead I call it 'not doubting myself'. Now that sounds like pretty much the same thing but really it isn't. If you have self-esteem you are sort of putting yourself in the box of people who think they are something--I esteem myself. But if you say 'I don't doubt myself' you are in a category of people who say what they mean and mean what they say and stand by what they believe no matter what.
Now I suppose that may lead to self-esteem in the end. But my way of getting there is by not-doubting myself.

Unfortunately, some days are worse then others. Self-esteem issues are very hard for me to overcome. I know it's something I really need to work on. I just don't quite know how to change these issues. I continue to push forward and hope that tomorrow is better then today. I know what I'm capable of doing. I just don't always have the confidence to do it. Going outside of my comfort zone is crucial for me. I just need to step over that fence and push on. As you may know it's easier said then done. Best Wishes!

i think just surrounding yourself with people who love and care about you and tell you how beautiful you are and laugh at your jokes etc.. boosts your self esteem.
it doesnt hurt sometimes though to pamper yourself and put some good clothes on and a bit if makeup and do your hair, even if its just to go for a walk, but to have people looking at you as you walk by and you know you look good.. that boosts my self esteem :)
