It would depend. I've read bite-size children's chapter books in 15 minutes, but I've got a nagging suspicion that most people wouldn't count that. lol
I've also read 300 page adult novels in 5 hours, but that's usually when I don't have much to do that day and the books really hold my interest. Typically I finish 2-3 books a week.

Wow ally, I had to look at a typical book I read and it is about 300 pages..We are pretty close, because I believe I have read these in one day before, but with kids, I do have occasional distractions, so it took me longer than 5 hours..I wonder if I could read one in 5 hours with absolutely no interruptions?? I'd love to find out sometime...

Well, it depends on if it is a child's book or an adult book, but I have read an adult fiction book in one day. It was a story based on a real life event and I had to read it. I set down and read the entire book that day so that I knew the whole story at once. I enjoy reading and would do more if I could.

I think that it really depends on the book, and how much time I can spend on reading each book. Sometimes, it takes me no time at all, if it's a really small book. However, longer books will usually take me longer to read. I'm not an extremely fast reader, as a general rule though.

The fastest I have ever read a book has been one day. One Sunday I went to the book store and bought James Patterson's book The Beach. I brought it home and made a pot and read the entire book in one afternoon. The book was reveting and I couldn't put it down.
