When it comes to listening to one's favorite music, it is old songs that fill the heart with sweet memories of the yesteryear. One might even go to the extent of feeling that the musical spell associated with listening to such gorgeous music is of a much greater order. The old songs songs have in itself a sentimental fervor lingering in it. It makes the listener go back to the past days of splendor. The rhythmic pattern of those songs are much more elegant than those of the present songs of speedy rendering. A session of listening to soft or classical music of the past is at once soothing and rejoicing.

Yes in many oldies of songs and music there are goldies. But I also find goldies in the new songs and music. I love the rhythem in music of today. Techno and rap, and HipHop are good goldies of today. Oldies of hard roock, pop, jazz, soul folk music are priceless goldies of yesterday.

I agree... I also love oldies and I still listen to them from time to time. Those music are meaningful and the lyrics are even more heartwarming. They differ with the kind of songs we have these days... some songs are made just for the sake of releasing a single.

I enjoy listening to old music on the radio. Lately, I prefer this old songs to the new ones. I'm very happy everytime I discover a good old song I've never heard before. I'm a fan of the 80's music and of bands like Fleetwood Mac and Simply Red. I like mainstream artists too, but sometimes their songs lack feeling.

Although I love many kinds of music I do agree that the old ones of yesteryear are the specials ones that have precious memories attached to them. I suppose it makes sense that over my life the music that has been more meaningful would be the older one...Oh yes...Hearing such sentimental oldies can bring a smile to my face and often a tear; they can take me back to a life gone by...

I am presently listening to some old songs right now. It feels great having to listen some of the songs when you are young. Presently the one that is playing right now is a song from our local artist. i begin to remember my childhood that in every afternoon I am not allowed to go outside the house because i have to have my afternoon nap or else i will not grow old. This was the time when I am freshly bath and drying my hair and I am in bed ready to take my nap. Old songs bring back memories. I love everything from the past and it is great feeling remember it when you hear the songs from it once again. And the lyrics of the song before, especially mellow songs are so passionate that you really want to fall in love even though you are young. I more appreciate lovesongs from the past than now.

Evergreen oldies are my all time favorites. The magical power of old songs will never fade with time. Their soothing melodies and meaningful lyrics have not only captivated the hearts of the veterans but even the younger generations can sometimes be heard humming some popular songs of yesteryears. Compared to today's music and songs, oldies are classic and are here to stay while the new genres of songs are very competitive and will fade as fast as they came in. I can never make myself understand and appreciate new music like the hiphops for example. Listening to these fast and loud music of today will only drive me insane sooner.

Yes, soothing and relaxing for me. I love different types of music in different moods. I was listening to Andrea Bocelli last night. Classic rock does bring back the past days of splendors. The old sentimental fervor. A nice Sunday with classical music is very soothing and relaxing.

Although there was a time in my life that the only music that I listened to was older music, that is no longer the case for me. Now, I will listen to a mixture of music that is older music and also more modern music. In addition to that, I also like to listen to music that comes from a variety of different genres. For me, music is one of the few things that can relax me when I am going through a difficult time in my life.

I agree with you. I listen to "Oldies but Goodies" radio stations or play my old albums on my Crossley turntable. I like to listen to my music when I write and listen to Soul, Psychedlic, and Oldies Rock.

Old songs are really good. Songs from The Beatles and Bee Gees are very classic and nice. Even those musical piece are really nice to hear. Songs from the 80's I guess is the best.

Well, it is True that when you listen to songs from your Youth or younger days it does take you back, and you can almost picture where you were when that song came out and see yourself in that situation. Some of my favorite music is from the late 60s and early 70s and takes me back to remembering those days back when life was good as I was too young to really have any Big worries about me.

Hi sukumar, I listen to oldies almost every night as long as I'm online for at least half an hour or so. Of course it would be contented if I could enjoy listening to them if I have considerable time. Yeah, I would never feel bored at all listening to certain same sentimental oldies which I love day after day. These classical music which I have been listening since young are so soothing and melodious Even though there are yet many lovely and nice new songs releasing every now and then but I will still glue to them always
Happy posting

I am in complete agreement with you.In fact i have a goodly collection of songs from the fifties and sixties which i love listening to and this includes pop ,film and classical music.Classical music is timeless and one can listen to artists from the bygone years as well as contemporary but the pop and film music of the early years is something different. This music had melody, harmony, was soothing to the mind and soul and always put one to ease dispelling any tensions that one had accumulated throughout the day.the music of the present era has lost its soul and is fast paced, appeals to sense tittillation and generally causes havoc to the mind.I am a fan of oldtime music and will always be one forever.

I love to listen to the older music/songs. Some of the new music is nice, but not all, for sure. Even my grandkids like a lots of the older music. We are listening to music now on RFD-TV. We listen to lots of programs on there and they do have lots of the older people singing the older songs.

Yes it is true that oldies are Goldies forever. Because there are a great quality in oldies music. So I always like to listen classical music. And I have a great collection of classical music and artists. I think now that they there are no quality in music and they always make remix of music which is not good. And also there are no feel in that time of songs.

Yes, indeed... Even if I grown up with the current type of song but when I listen to some of the oldies, I found it much more entertaining than the new songs which seems more ridiculous, bang here and there along with a very bad lyrics..The old songs are much better.(^^)
