My photographs all sprawled out on facebook.

I am one person who really loved pictures. In fact, when I was little, I was the only one amongst cousins who asked for a camera for Christmas. I received on of those early Kodak that can capture around 24 shots. So I learned to really pick my subjects and focus, otherwise, i wouldn't get a good album. And I meticulously arranged my snapshots in photo albums, chronologically arranged and aptly described. Eventually, I made albums for family celebrating debuts and weddings. I also have a special album about friends and places that interested my photographer's eye. Later on, I was even documenting recitals and revolutions. But as the world turned digital and highly sophisticated technologically, I had to pass on the viewfinder to the younger ones. Alas, I do find myself many times clicking on facebook photographs, unedited and amateurish, all sprawled according to tag dates, and yet quite exciting and delightful to view. I am mushy!

Hi eileenleyva, Photography is my thing too. I got a still camera when I was in school and would snap shot picture that would fascinate me. It was Yashka and the picture quality was very good. Most of the pictures were of Natural objects and not men or women. What happened later is that when I left home for my job place people who would look into my album would clean their hands on my photos and slowly half of the photos were stolen and I brought the album to my rented house. Now , however I have a digital Kodak camera but the charm that I felt with my 'Yashika' is not there in this digital camera.

That is true. The charm with your own camera and its paraphernalia is what keeps the passion. In my case, a fellow photographer borrowed my zoom lens and never returned it. When I insisted, he gave me a different one that didn't fit nor feel in my camera nor my grasp. I did get so peeved. Somehow, since then, my passion deteriorated in the sense that I do not want to take pictures anymore. But I still love photography.

They say do not give to your friends three things - good book and good camera. Possibilities are there that you lose them forever.

facebook has always been the outlet of sharing events on friends and the recent whereabouts of people.. for some, they don't intend to post pictures like that of professional photographers'. but there are also some that really edit their pictures for photography purposes.. but for me, a good photographer doesn't need to edit his/her pictures.. its simplicity and colors makes its viewers in awe of his work.. because a photographer already knows how to get a good angle of its subject and also the lighting..

Exactly the reason why I passed on the picture taking thing to the new generation. In fact, they have wilder and funnier and really incredible ideas about taking photographs. I am traditional and most of the time, still holds on to the the do's and dont's of photography, like the law of thirds... But now, realizing that everyone can really capture the moment, I am enjoying getting into the picture instead of being meticulously paranoid about the outcome of the picture.

Well, it is quite clear that you really like taking pictures. Pictures are really great for memories and there are times that even when you just look at a certain pictures it reminds you of good times which make you laugh. I also like taking pictures and is still learning the ins and outs of photography. I am not aiming to become a professional photographer, but at least I would be able to take great pictures for my blog as well for my facebook. Best to you and keep taking those pictures.

Photography had once been a passion. But I have hanged up on it now. I do not squeeze in a crowd anymore to get a good shot. The albums I have sometimes make me relive the times when I was so obsessive about capturing the moment. I am happy with what I have, and I am sure everyone who loves picture will be happy with their work... Keep the lenses clean and clear...

When I have time, I also look at friends' family photos, and I learn much about people I normally know as a former classmate or former co-worker... Amazingly, the snapshots people upload on their facebook page are quite all right. I really believe that everyone is now a photographer, even if they only use cellphones to take shots of their gigs. Many times, amateur's photos reveal much more about people and life, and I am bullish about the fact that the day will come when descriptions are not necessary anymore, for a single picture truly speaks a thousand words...

Hi eileen! There are more amateur photographer in facebook and we can't blame them as their purpose is just sharing the moment with others unless one is professional they will edit the photo.I enjoy looking at their pictures everytime I got chance to see some of them. In your opinion should them edit their photo or not as editing will make it unnatural..(^^)

The young people I know has this no delete/no edit policy! Even the blurred ones are kept for posterity. I don't mind it at all, but if I have my way, those photos will be erased. I like to view photos with clarity. Precision, I think, is a must in photography.

I'm not a frequent visitor to facebook. If i'm there, who knows i'm able to chance upon your masterpiece, shared around by others? With tagging made possible for your photos to travel far and wide without a passport, i won't be surprised to see myself being tagged in it one day. It's like message in a bottle, going from coast to coast, picking up sands till the right one decides to pick it up, keep it.
