i usually smile often, every time i am called upon, i greet that person with a smile, even in just walking by the streets people sees me smiling, it is really in my nature to smile often, but sometimes smiling brings me trouble, people misinterpret my personality of smiling often.. there is one situation wherein my angry boss calls on me and not knowing of his bad start day ahead, i answered his call with a smile.. then, he yelled "what the heck you smiling for".. (kind a sounds like that)so, i was surprised with that moments in my life.. also, I've seen articles and events that other people are put in bad situation for having to smile since its really their personality, like for the example the president of the Philippines (Benigno Aquino Jr.) with the Manila Hostage Crisis wherein when the president visited the aftermath place and he was inspecting the bus, some journalist captured a picture of him smiling and it really made a huge issue literally bad image over him..

There are people born with smiling face. Some do have smiling eyes so that even if they are said their eyes still smile. I think to be in a smiling mode is a good sight however sometimes it can be misunderstood just as you have cited. Nevertheless I think it is always nice to see smiling faces that sad and frowning ones.

Smiling is a way of showing agreeability. Some people smile a lot and it can be very appealing. There are celebrities whose every photo shows a smiling face. And this can be very charismatic; and mysterious, leaving people wondering: why are they so happy all the time? We are judged by the expressions in our faces, which can be nerve-wracking; especially for intensely sensitive and self-conscious people. I wouldn't worry if you smile a lot; it seesm you do it with good intentions. People who smile a lot are often a great blessing, especially in work situations.

speaking of celebrity, it just pop over my mind, i think actors and actresses do smile often specially when being taken photos is because they have to look good to get good pay.. i mean they earn to it.. anyways, as for me, whether or not i earn.. sometimes i don't even notice that I'm smiling at all, its like smiling is a permanent figure on my face though like what the topic is, it gets me to trouble sometimes...

I also have the same experience back whdn i was high school. Our prof was angry about something and she is in the process of scolding us. At that moment a friend of mine passed by the window and there goes my smile... then looked back in front not knowing that the smile was still in my face. That really put me in an embarassing situation because the prof told me i was irrespectful and that i am not taking her seriously. After that i cried a lot but my friends knew that i am smiling face, and that put me to trouble too.

i really hate it when people jump into conclusion and get mad at about the things you do innocently.. have you tried explaining to your teacher what happened?..

That same thing happened to former US President G. Bush I believe. At the time 9/11 occurred, I think he was visiting this elementary school and when events were shown on tv he kept this stoic look on his face and he caught hell for that. I guess the public wanted to see an upset face but they didn't. Obviously, both he and PNoy know how to keep their emotions in check, and it's a good thing they do! I mean if they were to panic along side the masses then wouldn't it just make the situation even worse? People tend to forget that just because someone is smiling it doesn't mean that their not weeping inside.
I don't know about your horrid boss, but I know my mood usually gets better whenever I receive a nice smile from friends and even strangers! There's no need to bring others down with you when you're having a bad day!
