Today i heard a news from a news channel saying a company is going to make a city in air...
it sounds nice but it is bit confusing for me...and a question arise in my mind "is it possible?".
they said they are going to make a plane like baloon having place for 250 peoples ...and it would remain in air for 18 hours a day...also they said they will resolve the problems of electricity and fuel with solar energy as well as with wind power...
the most important thing peoples still need to spend 6 hours on earth so what they do there in palne for 18 hours if they need to come on ground..?
i dont think it is a city its just like a place where we can spend our holidays ...!

I'll admit it sounds way cool but a part of me thinks that their just wasting valuable resources for the wow effect and publicity that stunt would bring. They would have to spend astronomical figures just to keep that thing floating in air, when we have enough land here. I know people are saying that we don't have enough space on earth anymore but the truth is, they just think that because certain areas especially the urban area are being overpopulated. We aren't evenly distributed over the available lands for use so we think there isn't enough space. I'm not saying lets bulldoze the forest and develop them but there are other places that wouldn't be harmed if they're developed.
I would like to read more on this city on air though...it sounds so much like another plan, in this case its city in WATER! I hope I get to see both in my lifetime! :)

Maybe someday someone will invent an off switch for gravity then we can finally make a floating continent with no need for fuel to keep it above ground. How cool is that? lol :)

Instead of city in the air i would prefer city in the water because i think technology for building city in the water is much easier than making a city float in the air.

yup, they are also plaanning to make a city in water that will float on water all the day and i think its better than in air as in case of emergency you will send peoples via small boats ...without disturbing others....this is great as compared to city in air...and there is less danger than air..!
