Food you just can't handle?

Hey guys! Are you real picky with food or do you simply eat what's on the plate? I usually eat all types of food but with exceptions though. Like I just can't eat liver or anything that is an organ. For me, the weird texture and taste of liver makes me feel really ill in the stomach. The thought of it even makes me cringe. I don't like eating seafood either like fish and prawns because I just can't stand the smell. I know they're good for you but I just can't force myself to chow them down. How about you guys? Anything you simply can't pop into the gob with no hassle?

Well, I guess we're on the same boat then. You don't like mushrooms because they're chewy and watery whereas I don't like seafood because they kinda smell and taste funny. We all have different eating habits because we're all unique! Pity how I don't like my healthy proteins.

Anything fatty and fried tastes nice! How can you not like mushrooms? They're like the best! That's because I love my vegetables and I have to have like at least 2 serves of veggies everyday or else I would feel really uncomfortable. Mushrooms have that chewy texture and they taste awesome with soup.

Me too, i am not picky when it comes to food. But if i know a food to be a meat dog or cat's meat , i will surely not eat it. Some people here in our country eat them, but not me. Maybe i could eat a snake meat or alligator but not those two.

Sad to say, that there are people here in the Philippines who eats dog meat. Most of them are those men who always like having drinking sprees with friends. They have it as their "pulutan" or viand to go with the drink. But the government is already bent in catching all those who butchers dogs for sale to people who eats them.

In my culture, dog is like one of the best dishes to have, especially at family parties. I can never push myself to eat dog and that's pretty illegal where I'm living. A dog is man's best friend and you're eating man's best friend?

Yeah, dog meat is quite popular in the Asian countries. My parents originated from Vietnam and they love dog meat. Too bad they live in Australia now.

Between my boyfriend & I, we are very picky eaters. I cannot bring myself to eat Peppers, Onions, Cucumbers, or Mushrooms. Some things I've never even tried are Radishes, Squash, & Honeydew Melons. My boyfriend doesn't eat Noodles, Roast, Pulled Pork, Meatloaf, or even Hamburger Helpers. So most of the time in our house, I have to put aside my favorite dishes (mostly noodle dishes), so that we can afford to stay on budget. We're always eating some form of meat & potatoes. As far as fish goes, that's one thing we have in common, except he likes shrimp. I dislike all of the fish category even though it's good for you. And I love, love, love Liver, but again, he doesn't.

Wow... making sacrifices for your partner is a nice thing even if it's just your favorite dishes. Meat and potatoes are a classic!

Meat & Potatoes are great, but I get bored with food easily. With Pasta dishes, I can make all sorts. And yep, sacrificing is part of a relationship. :)

I just can't eat peppers (pimentos), avocado, any kind of offal, pomegranates, mustard, mayonnaise, salad cream, pickles, mussels, whelks, mackerel, Bombay mix, dry roast peanuts, horseradish or liquorice. Am fine with pretty much everything else though.

Got a long list there buddy! But my list is longer than that, LOL. I don't like mussels either, they look funny and taste funny. I don't like any seafood in general.

I don't like pork liver. Also I hate prawns and every animal in the shell or with more than 4 legs. It's just not for me, no matter what people say that sea food it's healthy. I don't like garlic, apple juice or cider and hot milk. Anything else it's acceptable.

Wow, got a strict diet there but I'm kinda the same. Anything living in the ocean is a big no no for me. Sometimes, I have issues just taking down meat. I guess you could say that I'm almost a vegan.

heh. I eat meat. Just I don't like some of the kinds of meat.

I can't eat liver either, the muscle of an animal is one thing, but an organ is another, Organs filer out bad stuff break things down, just seems weird to eat it.

I eat chicken liver. It's very nice when you know how to prepare it. But pork liver or any other liver is no for me:)

Yeah! I don't get why people can eat stuffed stomachs of animals knowing that animal has been digesting who knows what. In my culture, my family tend to eat stuffed intestines and eat chicken blood. I have no idea how they eat that.

I'm not a big fan of vegetables, I don't eat all of them. I like the green leafy ones and also those that are often use to feed babies like carrots, potatoes, squash, etc. What I don't like are bitter melon, okra or lady's finger, onions and tomatoes (oops ... sorry, this is considered as fruit).

Don't worry, I'm talking about food in general so fruit is included. I love my fruit and I love my apples. I eat apples everyday. Bitter melon is quite nice!

I am not a big fan of any type of fish or sea food. After watching this show on parasites I don't think I will even concider eating anything like sushi, I will stick with the fresh water fish if that. I don't like the smell or texture.

Yeah! There's always news about little invisible parasites lurking on your food, especially at restaurants or fast food outlets. Usually I try to avoid food in which other people have touched such as sushi. As my mother always say, you have no idea where those hands have been!

Hah! That's what all my friends say! Except they're all picky though. I have a friend who is in love with plain bread and she just brightens up when there's a nice loaf right in front of her.

dear triple0, I am pure vegetarian,so I cant tell you about all,but I eat all type of food either I like it or not .because my grandma always told me that we get food because of god,and so many people don't get food to eat .so never say no to food .

Yeah you're right because that plate of food that you just threw in the bin could have fed someone else who was unfortunate. It's also good to try different types of food from all different cultures. Indulge in the culture and enjoy! Too bad it's just the mental thought of eating a liver makes me feel disturbed.

I'm not really picky on food either, but I cant eat exotic food, they are just too much for me,once we go to this restaurant, they serve exotic food there like snake, frog, etc, because in Asian country it is a delicacy, so my uncle ordered fried frog and he said its taste like chicken, but I nearly vomit just seeing him eat that.

I have an Asian background but I live in Australia so we don't really get to try exotic food and what's with everything tasting like chicken? It's all lies! . Lol. I wouldn't know because I have never pushed myself to actually try it.

I don't eat anything with blood on it. I also can't drink milk because my stomach get upset. The sad part about me is that I can't seafoods except only for fish. I have this bad allergy with shrimps, lobsters and crabs. I've been to the emergency room once because of them.

Wow... having an allergy must suck. I don't have allergies to particular types of food so I can basically eat anything. I have a friend who's allergic to peanuts and egg. Like all bakery goods are made of egg and I love my cookies and cakes. She pretty much eats cakes without egg it in, wonder if that's nice ....

I absolutely cannot swallow animal fat or I'll barf. I know that animal fat and oil/butter is just basically the same thing but for the life of me, I can't bring myself to swallow them. It's pure psychological. I think its because when I was young, my mother would always tell me not to eat the fat because its bad (or dirty I can't remember). Funny thing is, I have a friend who's the same way but instead of fat, he can't eat vegetables! I'm able to eat liver though. I don't care for them but I do sometimes.

Your friend doesn't eat vegetables!? Vegetables are the best! If I see animal fat physically dripping off the flesh or meat, I'd probably throw up as well. Butter and oil on the other hand I don't mind as long as it doesn't look like fat. Yeah, mothers have a way to shape our eating habits but sometimes it's for the better because they want us to grow big, strong and healthy!

I don't like to eat "sanconcho" for me is nasty, it has 7 different meats and sweet potato, and potato, and plantain, corn, and rice, everything mixed, is like a soup, but I hate that.
