I don't believe most superstitions that exists here in my country. I think they've only been developed because in the past, the discovery of science is still limited. People rely mostly on these superstitions to formulate and explanation over something they can't explain.

Hi there Amadhavan 99!
We have a lot of superstitious beliefs here in the Philippines too. For example, if you're on your way to some place and a black cat crosses your path, you should not proceed to where you are going because something bad will happen. It is also believed that we should not go home directly after we came from a wake because somehow, the ghost will be able to follow us to our home. There are a lot more but just to sum it up, we also have a lot of customs and superstitious beliefs.

Personally, I don't believe in superstition. I think they cause our lives more harm than good. For example, some people might refuse to leave their houses on certain days for fear that they would be struck with bad luck because the "stars" said so. Another example is a certain post made here in mylot just a few hours ago about a couple who have just canceled their wedding because of something about their zodiac signs. Now you tell me, does that look like healthy living for you? It sort of just hamper us.
On the other hand, there are some benefits to it too. It might give someone strength to do stuff by placebo effect. Like someone wearing a lucky charm might feel great and because of that, he would feel confident and be able to do great things.
