Unfortunately there is no cure at the moment. I used to have bad psoriasis when I was a kid but as I got older it gradualy got better and now I rarely suffer from it. I think the reason I don't suffer so much anymore is down to my life style. I exercise regularly eat healthly and try to sleep properly and mosturize every day. The sun and sea are great for psoriasis or if you can't get to the seaside try asking your doctor about ultra violet treatment. As for your original question, I have heard that scientists have found the gene that causes certain types of psoriasis, so maybe there will be a cure soon.

As of right now, there is no known cure for psoriasis. The best thing to do is diet and exercise. (I know it sounds silly but it does help.) I am on a medication called, Enbrel. It is a needle that I inject myself once a week. Shortly after I started using it, my psoriasis has cleared up. You can also get several books and such on psoriasis, ask your doctor for more information.

I dont think there is a cure. Me and my sister have had it for years. She gets in on her knees and I get it during the winter on my head. We use to use this tar stuff when we where kids to keep it under control but now it only shows when it gets really cold on my head. So if you find the "CURE" please let me know

i have tried many alternative therapies in India including Siddha, Unani, Ayurveda and Homoeopathy. Though they didn't work out well for me, i have suggested these to a few and it has worked wonders for them. I am still suffering but a few months ago i started practising Pranayama (a breathing technique) and this has had a profound impact in my skin condition. Maybe if you have tried enough of the medicines available, try this one out too !!

Thank you very much. I believe most of us use this tar stuff, but yes, i am from India and i follow a medicine in the Siddha tradition which has given me an immense relief. I also follow Pranayama breathing which adds up to the cure. If you can learn it - wherever you be - i am sure it will be one of the best medicines you would have ever laid your hands on. Thanks and cheers !!

I have had Psoriasis for 20 years now and have never been totally clear. I can keep it out of my hair though with a rx for Skincap. It smells like peanuts and you put it in your wet hair at night and sleep with a shower cap on. It has kept it off my head for a long time now.

This is one type of treatment (phototherapy) involves exposing the skin to a particular wavelength of ultraviolet light called UVB. Phototherapy is a common, safe and very effective treatment for psoriasis.

Not so far, I have had it for 20 years and have tried everything. The only thing that works is tropical sunshine and seawater or a spray called Skin-Cap, which is very expensive. Good luck, you will need it!

I can't wait till they find a cure for psoriasis and hope it is soon. I was diagnosed with psoriasis when I was 18 and that is a bad age for a gurl to be getting this in her scalp and face. I'm 32 now and I find it still hard to deal with nothing ever seems to work for a long period of time and it's now winter again and it is showing up again really bad. I do live active culture plain yogurt and even use a remedy my gramps made up because he had it to with vinegar, honey, olive oil. It softens the scales as I call htem and lets the medicine penatrate better. But there doesn't seem to be any cure that works wor a long period of time.

I can understand to an extent what you would have gone through, for, it started about the same age for me too and is still there. I am now trying out pranayama and it seems to have a definite improvement over a period of time. Maybe you can try it out too, after all, it doesn't have any side effects and all that you are going to intake is just air. Let me know your thoughts !

My dad is suffering frpm psoriasis as well, and from what I know there is no cure for the disease, but there are ways to treat it and keep in in good shape. I know that your diet is very important, and sun also helps=)

I know that there is no cure for psoriasis as of now, although people who are afflicted have different ways of coping with it. I also know that some conditions trigger a flare up and makes the psoriasis worse. These conditions include a throat infection, stress, injury, and others. Mine is what they call guttate psoriasis, where they look like raindrops on my skin. It used to be really bad but now it is manageable and I suppose better diet and trying to be stress free as possible helps. Also now, I am not too embarassed by how my skin looks like -- I just let it all hang out! :)

Hi Intivadu, Glad to tell you that there is a cure indeed. I (as well as my wife and two of my best friends)did suffer from p for a good 32 yrs and tried the heck everything under the sun to no avail or even worsening things. To cut a long story short, I got hold of a herbal remedy from Thailand (ointment) that did cure all of us. Just have a look at the before / after pics of me and my beloved ones at my profile. Hope this information will bring your condition to an end. All the best

Still no cure, neither is there a cure for the psoratic athritis that we can get.Even the injections are not a cure, as they do not always work and the side effects can be really bad.I have asked in the past if i can go on trial treatments, but due to other health problems they can not let me take part in any trials.
