I live in an apartment complex. It's huge there are so many other apartments and there is a courtyard in between and people live across the way. Well, I have these neighbors that everytime I leave the house they just stare at me. Like, I know its not me because My boyfriend has noticed it too. They literally just stand there and stare. It is just so rude and it pisses me off to no end!! I kind of have a no tolerance attitude towards rudeness and to me, staring is rude. I really feel like the day is coming where I am just going to go off and say something. Ugh..

Staring does make you feel uneasy, and it would me as well. I like the advice someone said of just talking to them, on the other hand I also like the old saying that stowyk quoted, "Take a picture it will last longer" My third, very random thought was that maybe you should start taking a picture every time they stare at you and they will think you are reporting them to the police or something then and stop.

Yeah said that many times too.We used to tell them too that whatever they lost it sure isn't over here so look somewhere else.

Why should you look at them. Just ignore and move on. It shows that you are giving them undue importance. Your time is precious and wasting it on issues that are unproductive could be and should be avoided.

That is extremely rude! They should not just be staring at you like that. I'd hav ebeen staring back or walking by them mumbling something about how they need to stop staring. I'm not a person who likes confrontations a lot. I am hopefully going to be moving into an apartment either next month or sometime in January and the ones I want to get into are out in the country where hopefully everyone there will be nice.

That is annoying. I wouldn't wanna be stared at like that, like a subject for an experiment. Maybe they have a crush on you or something, or maybe they're planning to eat you later on.

I think it is rude too. It is so obvious that they say something about you. Don't pay attention. Just walk with your heads up. :) I see that you are new here. Welcome to mylot. I hope to see you around and hope you like it here..

I am experiencing that too right now! Ug is the best thing to say. You know what I do? I stare back and when im on my porch I talk about how rude some people are and what they are NOT supposed to do. Then I had my husband come out and give them the stare when he was walking the dog. We are a mixed couple he is Mexican and I am white white white as can be with red hair and all so it is something to look at, but still very very rude. They have backed off since my husband passes by them all the time. Man he even started talking to them as if they did nothing and it unerved them I can tell you. Now they just look at me when he is not around. I like to wear my shirt that my mom got me its says "if you don't like what you see don't look, if you do like what you see stop before my boyfriend...." and it stops it sooo funny and the only one like it I have. I am usualy a very calm person and don't let things bother me, but man every day they do this too. I feel for you!

I have a feeling this is why they stare at us because i am white and my boyfriend is puerto rican. we live in a predmoninatly white area so it sucks but we live here so we have to suck it up.

Maybe they are wanting to speak to you and become friends. I would just ignore the whole thing.

Sounds very annoying. You can do the same thing to them each time they leave. Make them uneasy.

It's really annoying to have neighbors like that. I think in the big city, where people are so busy to interact, neighbors are like that.
But i think, next time when you see them, smile and wave. If they respond positively then good. But if not, just never mind them anymore.

It's really awkward when someone stare really hard at you. I know how it feels like and it doesn't feel good at all.
Maybe the just wanna see how's everything with their new neighbor and they just want to make friends or what. If that's in my case and everyday they keep on staring at me I will surely asked " What's wrong dude?" lol
Seriously, just IGNORE them. They don't worth your precious time.. :)

I know the feeling. It is very annoying when people stare at you for no apparent reason at all like you have done something so wrong or you are a criminal or something. I don't know how they feel about themselves when they do that to others. Maybe they think they are so special and some aren't. But just ignore them and don't look at them. Maybe they have got nothing else better to do or maybe they are jealous.

That's really rude and annoying, I also don't like people who stares at me, I feel I'm not at ease when someone doing that. I just hope those kind of people learned some etiquette and realize that staring into people is not nice.

That's life and what I can say is in our life we can choose friends but we cannot choose who should be our neighbor(s). Whats comes is whats ins; known as neighborhood building.

Few months ago I had truly impossible neighbours. If you could see them they look like normal happy family. Very kind always smiling people. When they started to cook I could not stand the smell of garlic curry and something else. If I tried to open my window this nasty smell already was there. All my flat smelled impossible. They cook twice a day. But now they moved and I can breath easily :)
