Well, the little one is still alive.

I was surprise to see the little gerbil still alive in the tank this morning, he looked really bad yesterday. But, after feeding him Friday night, Gerri seems to have come around and is taking care of him. The last female from the first litter is going to be with her sisters tomorrow night, so that will leave a free tank for me to move Gerri and this litter so they have more space. Tom and the boys are in the larger tank, having a blast in there. I'm trying to find homes for 2 of the boys, since there are 3 plus Tom, I don't have much of a choice. Once the boys get bigger, I wont be able to tell them and Tom apart. However, with the new litter, I'll have the same problem with Gerri and the girls, but not the boys as they are both gray. I tried to feed the little one today, but he wanted no part of it, and I take that as a good sign for now. But I'm still keeping my eye on him, keeping my fingers crossed that he continues to improve over time.

That's really good. I've read your previous posts yesterday and I was wondering how this little one is doing. Great news. I wish this little one and you everything best. Also I will keep my fingers crossed :)

Thank you. So far so good. It seems like prayers are being answered and this little guy might actually survive.

Gerbils sleeping - These are the 2 gray boys. The one on the left is the runt of the litter.
For sure I will. For now, here's a photo of them sleeping. The 2 black ones are hidden, not sure where they were. The gray one on the left is the runt, you can sort of see how he compares with his brother.

You may get totally surprised with the little one, and if Gerri is feeding him it is a good sign. I am glad it is you and not me with litters of gerbils.

I'm glad to know that the little one is still alive. I must have missed the message about that one, but I'm really far behind on messages. I'm glad you are finding homes for the first litter and that you have the males separated from the females. Will you be keeping Tom and one of the other males or get rid of them all? Do you plan to have other litters in the future? I hope things continue to go well for you! Have a great week!!!
