What do people think before they do this?

I just heard on the news about a man lost his job as a barber then killed his wife,twin step son's then himself.I have heard this many times before in the past few years.
But,I cannot understand what they have been thinking,that life is so bad from them losing a job that it would be better to murder their wife and kids and then themselves!Maybe those kids had dreams and ambitions that would have given them a bright future.Maybe their wives had just bought winning lottery tickets.Maybe tomorrow there will be a large check in the mail,a phone call with a job offer.
This is not what God intended us to feel.If these men really loved their wives and kids they would never had taken their lives away.
There are a lot of people that have lost their jobs and the economy is not looking good for them,but they don't end their lives and take the lives of loved ones,causing pain and grieving for other family members and friends.
I mean,we are being displaced in a few weeks and I have no idea what we are going to do.But,I have not and do not plan to kill my daughter then myself.Everything happens for a reason and God has a plan,obviously I do not know what that is.But God will let me know when He is ready.

I think the people who do this sort of thing had a lot more going on than just losing a job. They obviously had some severe mental problems and loosing their job just sent them over the edge. 2 families were killed here in the last few months, but I am not sure what the root of the problem really was.

The neighbors and extended family members said that he had never complained about his wife or kids and that he was basically a quiet person.

I think that this just contributes to what happened. In this situation, the barber as quiet person must have felt that he cannot share his problems or concerns freely with his family or friends. If he kept bottled up with his problem, he might have just snapped due to pressure and worries. He might have never complained to others becuase he might felt that his complaining will only burden his family and can make the problem worse. However, if he did open up a little, he might have support form others that he needed so badly.

Yes,maybe if he had opened up and not been so quiet it wouldn't of ended this way.

We can sometimes never imagine how absurd and insane people can become. Why kill the rest of the family and not just himself if he doesn't want to live anymore. There are a lot of people's suffering that are surely greater than his and they are living fine. you really can never tell what happens in the human mind when challenged. Sometimes we could tell we can't blame them because a lot can happen in people's lives and that anything can go very wrong inside the brain that can be out of one's control. Perhaps some are just too weak in handling the problem for why they are capable of doing these things.

Anyone who would do something like that is just a coward in my book. As a barber i am sure he could have found another job easily. Bet there was more to it than him losing his job.My last 2 step-fathers killed themselves . I have noooo patience w/people that do that.There is no excuse that can be made for people who do things like that.
i'm sorry to hear u have troubles again. Hope everything works out for the best for u & your daughter.

If reasons we are looking why he/she done killed his/her life, in a common scenario were find out, like in your example barber who lay off from his job, killed himself and his family. How about he have another big problema aside from layoff, may be the problem is his family itself.. There are many reasons but the question is why does happened? I think those people doing such action have no fear to God or faith to God.

I think we will see more and more of it. I am guessing they fall into a deep depression and in their mind it is the only way out. It is very sad that anyone would feel the need to do so.

People like that are not in their right mind. They don't have enough faith. And when they think of their problems too hard they go insane.
