Hi,i want to have my own website. But,where to buy a domain name?I have two options, either GoDaddy or HostGator.I can get it for $11.99/year at GoDaddy, but,at HostGator,it costs $15/year.I don't bother about money, but, which is more useful?I think hostgator offers free domain locking with every domain purchase from them. What about GoDaddy,Does it also provide such features? And,Coming to Hosting,Where to host the site?Again,is it GoDaddy or HostGator? If i buy a domain from GoDaddy, can i host it at HostGator? Please help me out with this.If you have any other option other than these two,it would be great if you provide the details.Thanx in advance.Cheers,..

My suggestion would be, there will definitely be a person who will be doing the domain name registering and hosting services. Search in the directory and talk to the persons directly. Why do you want to go somewhere else where you are not sure that you will get support when you need it. (Due to demographic location, most of these webhosts work during our night. And we work during their night. That would be a big issue when you want immediate support.)

hosting support - bluehost support 24 / 7 on phone, chat, email, ticket service
Wrong !!!! REAL hosting companies have 24/7 support. See the picture, or simply go check it out.

Well. I know there are real hosting companies. I would prefer a REAL hosting company near my location, not somewhere else outside. That's what I suggested. Besides, there is language issue with most of our countrymen when communicating with a company which has English or any other language as their primary language. (May be, the poster is good at English, but my suggestion is general.)

That adds to my website for sure. I am rolling out a web hosting company based in India soon. Though I do not have a direct access to any servers anywhere but The information of 24x7 support really helps me here....

Hi. First, try to go with the buying of domain until the last ok, on godaddy and gator. Coz as far as I know, there are some more taxes to be paid. Next, no matter from who you buy the domain, you can used in any hosting you like. Hostings are providing informations about how to do and what to do. There are hostings who grant you a free domain name until you are hosting the site on their servers, all you need is to pay hosting in advance for one year - try bluehosting com - usually together with unlimited traffic, space, email addresses and so on.
