Writing "Not a Referral Link" Is it necessary to do that?

In several discussions, I see several people placing a link, and then he/she write "NOT A REFERRAL LINK" next to that link.
In the guidelines, it is stated that we aren't allowed to:
"Post any links promoting other affiliate programs or that do not pertain to the discussion"
But, in most cases, I think we can tell whether the link is a referral link or not.
So, what do you say? Is it necessary to place "Not a referral link" every time we post a link? Please share your opinion :)

Hi there,
I saw admin confirm a while ago in a similar discussion saying that it is not necessary. I do it out of habit now, I don't think of earnings while doing so but find it a habitual thing with me. As Admin stated they are smart enough to know if something is a referral or not and someone pretending it isn't will be reviewed anyway prior to deleting or not.
So in all honesty it is not necessary but since I type as fast as I think I find that the habit has continued for me.

Oh, I see. Thanks for the information :)
So Admin already stated that writing "Not a referral link" isn't affect their evaluation about link :).
That would be fine for a habitual, I think. But maybe several people assume that writing "not a referral link" is a must when he/she is placing an appropriate link..

I have also noticed some members marking like that. I use links rarely and only when it is essentially required. I do not put that it is not a referral link. I think it is optional for us to mention so.

yes. people who are confident of their responses may not put it. Others especially those who have just crossed 500 marks and are using link option may give it. good day.

Personally I would think people would know, especially the people who have been here a while whether something that someone posts in here with a link is a referal link or not. I sometimes wonder if they do it just to increase their count for possibility of earning more money?

I don't think it's at ALL necessary to say "not a referral link." It is usually very obvious when someone posts a referral link because you can see their information at the end of the link (i.e., it might say something like "ref=[name]" or what have you). Or, if you follow such a link, screen names/account names, etc., are often pretty visible. If a person is sharing a relevant link to information or a helpful website, you can usually tell by the context of their posting. There is a pretty obvious difference between sniffing around for referrals or just including the useful links that we are encouraged to provide.

I think it is obvious whether it is a referral link or not. I do not think the my lot staff is that dumb so they do not know. If the link has a slash and after that the name or a name and numbers it is a referral link. If it has the name of a section such as 'supplies' 'contacts', 'articles,' then it is not a referral link. And if it is an article, it will say so.

Actually me also I observed such kind of wordings specially if related to money. I think in some cases it is needed because if you say like that admin might be considerate not to delete such URL if not really obvious or not against really from the guidelines. In some cases is it useless because if the content of your comments are sound marketing and promoting even you put BIGGER NOTES of not referral link - it is useless and for sure delete the discussion.
