I like those type of plants my self; I used to have a lot growing up and they were cool. Too bad they did not have the jumbo size for my ex husband....he would have been tripped into one by his own doing I guarntee that. Can you imagine if we did have one like the movie "Little Shopp of Horrors" I think that is what it is called. Boy it's a cute tounge in cheek movie.

I would love to have one of those. One big enough to eat one of my x's. Mainly for the humor of watching them get gobbled up by a plant. Hah! The thought makes me chuckle.

It seems to me you let yourself be impressed by various bad horror movies.
But no, carnivorous plants are not particularly large.
There are some great pitcher plants (her body is catching a kind of "pot", which is filled with watery digestive juices), the small rodents can also be fatal, but here they are drowning just before they are digested slowly.
All carnivorous plants with a more active kind of catches are too small and too weak to hold on to prey or damage can go beyond a certain size (as I said, small mammals have been an exception).
Nevertheless, about a Venus fly trap would react to your finger, but you will be held not guaranteed really - there is nothing in the flap, it harms the plant due to energy wastage more.
On the Mechanism:
"Sucking" does not really - once captured, but carnivorous plants from various enzymes that digest the captured insects - which dissolved substances are easily absorbed. Exceptions are the aforementioned pitcher plants, the whole time in their aqueous contents of these enzymes.
