In turkey they make cabbage rolls too.. THey make a filling for it. For the filling you can mix half a kilo of ground beef with a cup of raw rice. Two table spoon of tomato paste, red bell pepper paste/1 teaspoon of red bell pepper powder, black pepper, salt and thyme. You mix the filling ingredient all together. You then fill the cabbage leaf as if you are making eggrolls. You then put the rolls in one saucepan and arrange it beside each other. When you fill up the sauce fan with the rolls arranged horizontally, you then put something on top of them to prevent them from opening up, you can put a small plate or even a cover of a smaller sauce pan to serve as a weight on top of the rolls. Then you can mix a tablespoon of tomato paste with a glass of hot water then pour that to the sauce pan. You can boil the rolls for an hour. You serve it hot and you can serve it with plain yogurt.

Oh my, I remember, me and boyfriend decided to cook cabbage rolls not so long ago. But we weren't successful and we were really laughing because our cabbage roll didn't really come out as it supposed to be. I've read recipe about it, that we must boil the cabbage leaves first before using them to wrap the filling. Unfortunately, we wrapped it first... so we failed.
