Soap doesnt clean anymore.

Ive always used DOVE soap to wash and its always done the job very well and left my skin soft also. A while ago, I washed my face as I had make up on and usually I just dab a towel on my face but for some reason, I used the towel and rubbed my whole face with it. I was in shock to notice the smear on my towel I thought maybe I didnt wash well or something went wrong, so I washed my face again, with the DOVE soap and used another towel to rub my face and ....still it was dirty!! I had to use a scrub to get my face clean as I didnt have any other soap. Ive noticed lately that on nearly all advertisement for soap bars, or soap gels, they dont mention "cleaning" anymore, they say that it leaves your skin soft and smooth. So what happened to CLEAN? What soap or gel do you use to wash and are you sure it does the job and gets you "clean"???

Remember the slogan, "You're not fully clean until you're Zestfully clean." That just doesn't cut it anymore, I've noticed that too. Laundry detergent is the same way. It just doesn't work anymore either. They don't make soaps the way they used to and they make you buy more and more of it thinking that maybe the next time it will work.

Detergent soaps composed of 70% chalk so its cleaning power isn't so effective.

From some commercials I'd seen in the past, I learned that it was more water than detergent. But the same can't be said for soaps, I guess they're more chemicals than actual cleaning agents.

Yes we are paying for more water and for DOVE soap, I think you get more lotion than cleaning agent. I hate having to pay for something when it doesnt clean. Im now using Goat Milk Soap and my face towel came out clean after one wash. So I guess theres still one that might be cleaning.....on the downside, it takes away the shine in my shower, so I need to rub it all clean after every shower, but at least Im clean, until they decide to change that soap too.

I noticed the same thing with Dove. At the end of the day I take the time to really clean my face and get all the makeup off, and some of it ends up on the towel, and forget about getting mascara off. Right now I am using Dial because it was cheaper at the family dollar store.

For mascara, I use petroleum jelly...just keep your eyes closed so it wont sting. Unfortunately, I have very sensitive skin and cant use just about any soap....oh dont get me wrong, Ive tried so many that I have a basket full of old soaps I cant use. I wish I could use soaps sold at the dollar store.....good for you if you can use those. So if Im not the only one to notice that most of the soaps out there DONT clean, why arent we complaining about it so they fix the problem?

OMG! That is terrible. I would write to the company. I use Irish Spring in the shower, and wash my face with "Clinic" soap which works great for me. I have noticed like others have commented on that my laundry soap isn't as effect as it use to be. Seems like sometimes I have to wash clothes twice which gets to be a real pain sometimes and you shouldn't have to wash things twice.

Silly me I never thought of writing the company to complain But as someone else suggested, its the right thing to do. No we shouldnt have to wash ourselves twice or our clothes. The soap is expensive, so is the hot water. I use Ivory Soap to wash my clothes as its the only detergent that doesnt give me and my dog a rash, so I wash in hot water and Id hate to have to wash everything twice, so I use bleach. You might not believe me, but if you do it right, you can use bleach with colors and it wont damage the clothes or stain it. Im getting pretty good at this

Use PONDS facial wash. I am male but I use it to remove oil on my skin. I tried MASTER FACIAL wash but it just doesnt work for me. Maybe my skin is irritant to it. My face become so dry when I use it. I agree with you regarding some soaps that are designed to smoothen the skin. These are soaps that were formulated for very sensitive skin. There are skin that easily get irritated with soap.

That's terrible! It sounds as if the fat in the soap isn't disolving enough, and certainly isn't doing its job. I'd complain. Dove is expensive and should do the job it is made for. Take some photos of your towel and send them to the manufacturer. Most of us don't have enough money nowadays to squander on things that don't work! I find that appliances aren't up to scratch either now. On both my gas oven and Turbowave cookers, the marks indicating the time and temperature have come off after only a few months. The paint used isn't heat-proof! Lots of corners are being cut now by many of our once respected companies!

I never thought of taking a picture of my towel and send it to Dove. What a good idea. I'll do that, thanks!! You're right, appliances arent what they used to be. Im afraid to use my oven too often because the whole stove gets hot now, so much that I cant touch the top. I called the company and they said it was normal. The guy actually said that everything is made cheap now. Thats why I dont pay anymore since we have to buy new ones after 5-6 yrs. I havent tried tee-tree facial wash. Im now using Goat Milk Soap and its cleaning, not sure if it'll give me a rash or not. But I'll give Tee-tree a try also.

I forgot to add that I use a Tee-tree facial wash. I never touch soap. I'm allergic to it and it dries out my skin too much.

Made cheap! Isn't that a terrible thing for a manufacturer to admit! Where has the pride in producing good quality gone!? The trouble is that even the poorly made things are dear now! We consumers just can't win any more!
