I have not and never will be accused of being a vampire,I love garlic!
When I buy something that is already flavored with garlic.I can't taste it and add more!I had relatives over for dinner once and made fish and they said I put too much garlic on it.Where I didn't think there was enough and neither did my daughter.
I have high blood pressure and cannot put garlic salt on my food.I use either fresh, minced or garlic powder.I guess it depends on how much of a hurry I am in.
Do you like garlic? Which kind do you use?

I like garlic and use it in a lot of cooking. I like fresh garlic, but I find it a pain to cut up, so I generally used minced. Sometimes I will use the powder, but I do not use garlic salt.
What I really do not like, though, is when you can smell garlic coming out of people's pores when they sweat. It does not happen with everyone, because I worked with a guy that ate garlic every day and never smelled like that. I worked with another one, though, and I could tell when he had eaten pizza or something else with garlic ... not from his breath but from his general body odor, even though I am sure that he showered and used deodorant.

That actually makes sense. The one guy that I worked with ate garlic every day, and I could never tell, even when he had extra garlic on his pizza for lunch (I could smell it on the pizza) and I had to work with him in the afternoon. The other guy I used to walk with sometimes on lunch as we were friends, and I could tell when he had eaten garlic the night before. He didn't eat garlic as much, so his body didn't produce the same enzymes that the other one's body did.

"I worked with a guy that ate garlic every day and never smelled like that" There is something weird but proved with garlic : more you eat garlic and less you smell garlic. I read that "regular consumption of garlic promotes the formation of enzymes that help minimize the smell." My two cents.

Oh I love garlic so much. I put plenty of it in the food that I cook and love garlic rice. I don't mind the smell. I am more into its health properties. I always mince it well to make sure my little girl don't notice it. it is important for me to get her used to it too.

I don't understand why people think it smells so bad.My daughter doesn't think it smells bad either. If we are in a store and smell them fixing a sample of something with garlic,we both say, yummy!
In rice it is good,I agree. We like it in the mashed potatoes too.I do not like mayonaise and I have always just ate tuna fish, packed in oil,on bread. But,recently I got bored with the taste and fix it the same way,but sprinkle garlic powder on it or on on chicken or turkey sandwiches. My 4 year old granddaughter enjoys them too.

Garlic is important to cook here. It is very common for us to add some smached garlic when we fry the vegetables. It makes the vegetables much more delicious and it also smells well. If you add the smashed garlic with butter on the bread and then bake it for a while, the bread will be so yummy. Garlic seems to be healthy as I heard that the raw garlic can kill cancer.

Hmm, maybe ur just used to the garlic that you don't sense it any more?
And yes, I use normal garlic, sometimes squeezed thru those metal things into foods, and garlic powder too (yes, garlic salt is also too salty and unhealthy to use). But, also you should try some garlic in the grill. We usually wrap it in aluminum foil and put it in the grill for a little bit (I'm not sure how long), but when it comes out its soo good. It's all like squishy. You can either just eat it like that, or u can use it like butter and spread it over bread. Yum!

Wigma,sounds great.I will try it.
Stowyk, yes garlic bread is wonderful. To make quick garlic bread or if your in a hurry and couldn't find any in the store.Use regular sliced bread, which ever kind that you prefer, spread butter on it,spinkle garlic powder on it.Then place in the oven on aluminum foil in the oven on a low temp.Depending on your taste of how dark you want it check it....should be done in 2 to 5 minutes.

I am not also a vampire and I love garlic, though I don't use it with any food : I don't eat garlic with fish, by example. I put garlic in fried dishes : it gives a good taste to vegetables, chickens, mushrooms, etc. I prefer to use fresh garlic, but I use also powder, for some dishes like rice with garlic.

I love garlic too but not as much as you do maybe. I love eating garlic bread and i love toasted peanuts with fried garlic. I don't usually cook so i don't know how to use garlic but i remember using minced garlic to a pork barbeque marinade that i did two years ago on my son's 5th birthday.

My husband made some Croatian sausages (cevaps) for dinner tonight, and they had lots of garlic in them. I love the taste of the stuff and so does he, but no one wants to go anywhere near us for about a week after we eat it. LOL The problem with garlic is that we don't just breathe it after, we sweat it out of our pores. LOL

i adore garlic!! even iof i'm just roasting a chicken in the oven, i smother it in lemon pepper, garlic salt, and crushed garlic!
my preferred garlic is good old whole garlic cloves crushed in a garlic crusher! i think salt, granules, and powder just don't have the same taste, and chopped garlic doesn't cover everywhere like the crushed garlic, because it goes like a paste.
yum yum.. i'm hungry now :)

Yes, garlic really spices up our food. I also love garlic expecially in fried rice and roasted nuts. My mother is a big fan of it due to its medicinal value. She has high blood pressure that's why she consumes garlic. The only drawback is the smell. We usually mince it so that it can be added to a lot of different dishes in our food.

hi:)
Like you I like garlic on my food too, like when I buy peanuts in the market I ask the vendor to add extra garlic on it. I think it gives that delicious taste and aroma on food, and when it comes to garlic I like to use the fresh one better than those powdered or dried when I cooked at home, garlic is nice and also have medicinal purpose.

hello dfollin,
yes i like garlic too. though at the moment i am having a cooking holiday, but usually i like to use it, as it is very healthy, and adds an interesting flavour to food.
there is just one small question though, that i have to challenge you on.
these days it is generally agreed that things should be evidence based, before they are accepted as fact, what research evidence do you have to prove that all vampires don't like garlic, and how can we know for sure that your liking of it proves you aren't one?

hi dfollin I also love garlic and use the fresh cloves of garlic and always add some real garlic to garlic flavored stuff as real garlic gives a lot better flavor to foods. I have high blood pressure and am salt fast so I nev er use any salt just garlic and herbs for
good Flavor. to me a pasta dish must have real garlic in it to
be as delicious as it can be.Garlic helps to get blood pressure
down so Iuse it a lot in foods.

I love garlic too. In my marinades for fried chicken and porkchop, i would put lots of crushed garlic. Then , i would fry them last and eat them like peanuts.
I like putting lots of chopped garlic also to my fried rice. I like lots of it really!
But after eating garlic, i would brush my teeth so well and gargle because i know that it would smell hell.
